View Full Version : Florida Gathering
Just a quick pulse here to determine interest...
Would anyone be interested in a gathering in say, St Augustine or Jacksonville for Saturday, July 10th? It's a certain administrator's birthday that day and I was wondering if anyone would be able to make it. :D

HELLOOOO????? Of course I'll be there!!!! I've been waiting for this day since the first one. What took so long???? :D
Even if you just have a small party...I'll head down there. That would actually be the perfect weekend because my boss is moving so I won't have any work to do. Don't let me down Lisa!!! I need a FL trip.
I'm starting a new job this week so I don't know how my schedule will work out. I would love to attend. I haven't been to a Taylor gathering yet. I really wanted to go to the last one but wasn't able. So I am a definite maybe.

A 12 minute response time...tsk tsk, you ARE losing your touch!!!
I told April that you would probably be a definite attender. :D It'll be fun if we can pull it off.
...So, how about a pinata for JR's party? hehehehe ;) :D :D

hehehe...why can't we pull it off? I'll even come down early to help get everything set up. :D
If we do this...I say we make it like a kid's party and mess with him. (he better not be reading this or else we'll have to go to private messaging) I'm all for getting JR good. He's been through too much this last year. He needs a couple misfits to mess with him. :p
Nope, sorry...no kids theme. I don't want to die "relatively" young. :D:D:D

Of all places to put this... I'll be there if at all possible. I just found out (thanks to a painful trip to the ER and a subsequent ultrasound) that I have to have my gallbladder removed... and... uh... they've found what looks like a lesion/tumor in my abdomen nearby... so I'm not sure what's all coming. Might be nothing... I'll find out after the CT scan. But assuming I can come, I will come. I do have some in-law type family in the area (if it's St. Augustine).
Thanks (and any prayers about the other welcome),
Wade

It is very possible that I can go. I have to check my work schedule for sure. :)
Look like a lot of people are thinking about summer vacation in Sunshine State. :)
Lisa, I replied your email and I also asked you some questions. Did you receive my message? If you did not receive that email, I will forward to you again. :)
Wade,
I am pulling for you buddy and hoping everything is A-OK normal. It sure would be great to meet you and I hope if we are able to plan this you can make it. :D

Ahhhh!!!! What do you mean "if we are able to plan this"????
I'm still voting for it definitely happening even if just a handful of us show up. :D I'm sure if Tom is in town he'll come since he's been wanting to plan another gathering since the first one. And if Tim and Ryan can swing it, I don't see why they wouldn't come either. And we have to remember about Elizabeth...or at least go down to see her perform again. Florida! Florida! Florida! Gooooo Florida!
You're not allowed to tease me with this and then not do it! That's cruel and unusual punishment and will get your moderator status revoked. ok...maybe not that...but it's still cruel. http://217.160.250.165/ubb/cry.gif
Lot's of stuff to consider like can we get a place and all that so that is what I mean by maybe. I have made inquiries though and if we can't do it in July we will do it at another time. :D

Dude! It's Florida. All we have to do is step outside. hahahaha!!!! :D
But I guess I can be patient. I know you'll get a place...I just know it! Fingers are crossed. And I'm going to try and pull some strings with the big guy upstairs. It always helps to have connections with powerful people.

Yep, I'll meet you all Saturday at the Tradewinds between 1:00 and 4:30.
Ha ha, anyway, that is where I am playing on the tenth.
Wish you could all stay at the Casablanca Inn on Friday May 9. I play there on the veranda every Friday, 5-8 p.m. But it is for guests of the Inn only. And it may be a bit pricey for some tastes, though I must say it is the best Bed and Breakfast in St Aug! (And I say that because it is true, not just because it gets voted that each year..) It is right on the bayfront, sure would be a blast. They also own two other inns nearby, super nice people, g'head Lisa, call 'em up and get them to make you a deal for a block of rooms...
Unfortunately I couldn't make it, I'm off to the Dominican Republic for a church trip that Mrs TimB is none too pleased with, starting July 15 and being out of town more days around July 10 as well would NOT!! be acceptable.
Shame, as I really enjoyed the last one and wished it had gone on for several more days.

Well Tim, we can't have Mrs TimB unhappy now, so just cancel that boring old trip the the DR and join us. Maybe that will make her smile again. :D ;)

A definite maybe
I hate being undecisive! I'm in the same boat as TimB, I'm on 2 weeks vacation starting 7/17, so there may be prep to do that weekend before, I'm not sure :D But I already had considered another overnight outing that same date, & that one fell through, so who knows? ...
Really, who knows??? Anyone??

Hmmm... My brother lives in St. Augustine; haven't seen him in a while.
Stranger things have happened...

No can do :( $$$ is too thin at this point in time, and tons of expenses coming up for the summer! I'd love to see y'all again, though - just probably won't work out (A shame, too, since that weekend is wide open for me right now, which is rare for this summer!)
:(
Oh well Ryan, I guess the World Golf Village wouldn't make a difference would it? ;)
J/K I did think about checking there but I think the historic area would be best. Sure wish you and Tim could make it. :(

:D Already went there last time :D
Just got back from a long weekend in Palm Coast, right down the road from St. Augustine. We spent some time at St. Augustine as we usually do. Didn't see Elizabeth play which is a shame.
We get down that way often, but I don't know about July 10. Maybe, we'll see.

I agree. I saw him once. Amazing. BagelsGirl is also a must. Both reside in St. Augustine. :)

How far of a drive would it be for me from Clearwater? Just moved here and still learning my way around.

Premalata,
It's an easy drive. I-4 East to I-95 North. About 3 1/2 hours. Put in a good CD and enjoy the ride. However, don't go through Orlando during rush hour. That's not fun.
