Even though I have purchased my travel guitar (a used Taylor 420 from a fellow forum member) I still try out some of the guitars suggested by various forum members.
One of those was an Ibanez AW300. I got to play one of them tonight and it is a very nice guitar. I believe it to be a solid body. It played well and it sounded very Taylor like. It produced a nice volume of sound. At $419.00 it is a bargain. Throw in a case and for somewhere around $500.00 you have a very nice traveler.

if you are still looking. Larrivee L-01(GA size), all solid wood construction, spruce top, sapele or mahogany back and side. No body binding, can be found for around $550 + s/h. Also Larrivee OM-01(GConcert size) can be found as low as $450 + s/h

I would go with either seagull or a larrivee. probably larrivee because of its all solid wood. but seagulls sound really nice too. A couple of my friends have them and they sound pretty darn good.

Thanks for more suggestions. I have taken possession of the Taylor 420 and it will suit my travel needs for a while. Currently it is being set up and a new bone saddle is being added.
Now I need to sell the Ovation.

You should consider a Rainsong Projection series, either a dread
or a grand auditorium. They sell for 600/700 dollars atElderly instruments.
The top is graphite, the back and sides is laminate painted with uretane finish.
They are very impervious to climate changes and sound quite similar to a
Taylor (I know that because I owned at the same time a Taylor 314 and
a Rainsong Projection series dreadnought). The neck width is 11/16 which should be OK if you do not have big hands. The sound, in mjy opinion, is very good.
