I live in the NE corner of iowa and would love to try to make a get together some time in that area. Only like 4 to 5 hours depending on where the location is. I can`t do any sundays and I only have evry other saturdays I could try and make if it fel on it right.

If it fits into my schedule, I would be interested
in getting together and meeting some TGFers.
If not, Sandy, maybe I'll catch you you at Terry's
store sometime, (or Hogeye??)

I might be interested depending on when. It would be fun. If you're thinking summer, the last three weeks of July are most likely out for me. We're planning our family vacation to Scotland about then. I'd be willing to come to the Chicago area. My oldest son lives in Schaumburg. I could bring my husband and leave him to bug the kid while I have fun with guitars and TGF people. :ha:

MAKE it a GREAT day!!!:)

We've had two in the past, and I've organized them. (mainly Chicago players)

I have an email list of attendees and Chicago area TGFers if the organizer wants them.

Count me out for organzing the event, unfortunately....I'm too busy studying for my licensing exam.

BUT....would I be interested? You bet, I would definitely come. And I know others will too, if it works with their schedules.

I'd be interested. My time in the summer is limited as I do a lot of work around the country. If I am in town count me in.

I have made one of the two Chicago events.

I'm about 4 1/2 hours south, but depending on the dates, I would be interested. I've been to Galena once before and it was great. Might be a great place to hold it. Isn't it a little out of the way for you Chicagoans?

I'd be interested. I have a son who lives in the Lincoln Park Area and I am due for a visit. My trips to Chicago thus far have been in December....a summer trip would be a welcomed change!

I'd come to Chicago in a heartbeat. There are only certain times I'd have to miss...

If you plan something let me know. All these slackers in Kentucky don't seen to want to do it. :D

The young adult ministry of my church is sponsoring a concert at Nevin's Live (http://www.nevinslive.com) on June 10th with Michael Kelsey (http://www.michaelkelsey.com ), who happens to play a 615.

The show is free. If you're in the area, please come by and have a great time. You won't be dissapointed.

Well, you'll get another chance to see me Tues. 4/27 as part of "Sounds Kinda Funny," a comedy music revue at Frankie J's, 4437 N. Broadway (just n. of Montrose), upstairs in the Method Dome Theater at 8p.m. Also on the bill are Sue Fink and two others TBA (Tony Goldmark may come back this month). Next wk. I'm in Iowa; will be at Fat Bean in Naperville Sat. 5/15 and the next aft. at 3 at the Cheney Mansion (no, not THAT Cheney) in Oak Park.

Just found out I will be showcasing Thurs. night 5/13 as part of the MECA music conference at MULLEN'S ON CLARK, 3527 N. Clark, Chicago at 8:30 pm--it's free, and you get a lineup of some of Chicago's best acoustic musicians.

Also playing Sat. night at 8 at ARBOR VITAE JAVA & JUICE , 111 W. Jackson, Naperville (with Taylor maven Greg Steele on lead guitar) and
CHENEY MANSION, 220 Euclid in Oak Park Sun. at 1:30 p.m. Both of these are free too!

I would be happy to sponsor an AGF get together in the Chicagoland area! Perhaps get several other builders to chip in as well!
Let me know.

Just a reminder that I'm showcasing tonight as part of Chicago's MECA Music Conference from 8:30-9:05 at Mullen's on Clark, 3577 N. Clark, Chicago. Come at 8 and you can see the amazing, internationally-renowned Leni Stern (hey, no pressure on me at all! ;) ).

Saturday night from 8-10:30 I'll be at Arbor Vitae Java & Juice, 111 W. Jackson, Naperville--accompanying me will be Greg Steele; with a special appearance by my singing partner, Madison, WI's Stephen Lee Rich.

Sunday from 1:30-2 I'll be providing the packground music for Oak Park's plant sale at the Cheney Mansion, 220 Euclid. My pals from the Old Town School of Folk Music will be playing Sat. and Sun. from 10:30 am-3:30 pm. Come listen and take home some plants for your windowsill and garden.

Wow, I've been away so long that I've missed a lot of stuff! ;)

If we have a get-together for Chicago area (and surrounding area) AGF members, I'd like to be there. Lately, I've been extremely tied up with work and haven't been on AGF hardly at all, so if something firms up in the plans, someone please email me and let me know.

Glad to see so much interest in a gathering. I'd vote for the Northern Suburbs of Chicago if possible as a location. Someone suggested Schaumburg and that would be fine with me.

North burbs or Schaumburg works for me--or I could host it (Edgewater Glen, just s. of Rogers Park).

Just let me know. I'd like to be there. Chicago is not too bad a drive.

Glad to see others willing to come even from a distance! Thanks Wade.

So when are we going to do this thing?!

June's pretty well shot for me--playing Duckon this weekend, gigging up in da U.P. next week (oh, yah); doing the quarterly open mic at Two Way Street in Downers Grove 6/18 (get there by 7 if you want to play--anyone wanna carpool?) and gigging with the Chi. Songwriters' Coll. at Cook County Jail (!!!) 6/19. Sun. the 20th will work (after everyone's done with church and I have recovered from the jailhouse gig). Next week (6/24-30) I'll be in San Diego. July I'm gigging on the 9th, 16th, and 23d at various Borders (Orland, Oak Brook, Lincoln Village, respectively). Aug. I'm playing on the 6th (Gallery) and in Madison, WI the next day. Playing in NC on the 20th, so need to block out at least 3-4 days at either end of that. Sept. 4, Borders again (Oak Park); 9/5-6, Fox Valley Folk Festival. Will look up dates for Rosh Hashonah and Yom Kippur so I don't step on G-d's toes ;) .
