Hey left-coasters,

Anything happening the 28th of Feb thru the 3rd of March??? I'll be in LA at the Radisson on Century Blvd (near LAX) from Saturday afternoon (the 28th) thru the evening of the 3rd.....probably don't plan to rent a car, unless there's something cool to go do that I can't get a ride to....
Ryan and I are talking golf on Sunday morning (29th)
.....any other ideas, thoughts, etc.?
I probably need to do work things Sunday afternoon and late Monday afternoon....then all day Tuesday and Wednesday (evenings may be available)....flying back on Thursday morning

Golf??? Hmmmm... you would think that, with my last name, and the fact that I live on a street named "Ironwood", I'd jump at the chance to play.

But, alas, I completely suck at golf.

Still, it would be fun to get up there and hang out with you guys. I'll be at the Folk Alliance Conference here in San Diego, though.

But hey, you can make it fun in my absence. Every time you shoot "par" on a hole, take a drink on me. Could be pretty funny by the middle of the back nine...

I didn't know the Folk Alliance was on that weekend in SD...what are the chances of finding a hotel on Saturday night? I'd might be interested in checking it out, maybe Ryan would too!

Odds of getting a room are pretty good, although admission to the Folk Alliance Conference is pretty pricey; $240.00 for a one day pass, if you're not a member of the Folk Alliance. Here's a link to their website: Folk Alliance Conference (http://folk.org/AnnualCon/annualCon.htm).

Be that as it may, it would be great to see you and Ryan...

YIKES!

I dont think I can swing that ticket...but other than that, I'm down for getting together.

BTW, Called Rustic Canyon this morning for a tee time- theyre all booked up, even for 2, but they said if we got there early the chances of getting out quickly are good.

Goose Creek is booked too, but they said they have tournament groups going out Sat Morning (any course that has tourney groups sat mornings suck up all the tee times SUCKS!!!)

So that one is out of the questions.

There are also the PGA club of So. Cal. at Oak Valley and
Landmark at Oak Quarry

But those are pricey, I know of a discount service that we can get the times through but we have to pay in advance to the service so we best not book till we have set plans.

If you wanted to hit SD, there's plenty of stuff down that way too, though the Temecula area courses tend to be the best deals...

I'd bet Jeff Calhoun would want to play if we were in Temecula...

I've got a gig on Friday the 27th, and will be at the Folk Alliance from noon 'til about 4:00pm that same day. On Saturday, I'll be there from 2:00pm 'til around 6:30pm, and back there again on Sunday.

If you guys find yourself down in the northern part of San Diego County on Friday, you should come to the gig!

Hey Tom!

I am only about 35 min from Century City (minus traffic), but I will be gone both weekends, due to cheer competitions with my daughter. However, perhaps there might be a time during the week to meet up. Is Vicki going to be with you? I would love to get together with you both, even if only for a late dinner (after traffic) during the week. Please let me know! :)

(Tuesday evening would work.)

I live about 10 minutes South from the Radisson on Century Blvd. Tuesday or Wednesday evening I'm available and I think I can get a drummer... you can use one of my guitars. I've got a huge room 20' x 34' with the drums set up so there is room for anyone else who would want to show-up. I'm home about 4pm and would love to give you a place to go if your not booked up.

plenty of room for everyone!

As long as I'm around and not otherwise occupied, I'm game for anything. Tom, bring your golf shoes...I'm still trying to locate a bag for you (my extra set of irons is bagless :) )

Tom, I sent you an email and am willing to do whatever to make this work out. I'll even buy the Pizza :ha:

It would be great to have you all over for a get together. Sorry that I wasn't sure of my schedule earlier we could have planned better. According to mapquest it is 13 minutes to Tom's Hotel from my house but they don't know the shortcuts.:)

Last year I added a room and set it up for doing just this kind of thing. already set up is a Fender Passport PA I have my bass amp and bass, My future brother in Law is the Drummer and has his drums always set up in there. There is a Roland D-50 in the room. 3 good size couches and plenty of other chairs... It is a very comfortable place to relax and play.

I know it is short notice but if were able to pull a few of us together it would be fun.

Oh yea, just because I own some decent equipment it doesn't mean I know how to play them. I just have no kids and have been able to spend my $'s elsewhere :) I always go thru the feelings of being inadaquit but now that I'm almost 50 and time is running shorter I've decided that doesn't matter anymore

Tom, so if this works I'd be glad....
So all you So. Cal TGF 'ers work out the day with Tom and then come on over....
email me for directions and ph number....

Ryan,

I'm good to go for golf until 2:30 PM on Sunday, I've got a meeting at 3:00 PM, so I need to be back at 2:30 to get cleaned up, etc. So, you got clubs but no bag..can't help with that from this end....will bring shoes (I played in Lands End mocs [the kind that are suede with big tread] in the desert yesterday and they worked fine, might do that again).

Cisco, Rebecca, Dennis, et al

I'm available Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Wednesday night (Tuesday night is business reception....) would be great to get together and jam...

Howse about it, CA TGF types?

PS: Rebecca, you can be upset with Vicki, I had the ticket reserved for her to come, but she bailed.

high of 63, sunny

probably be low 50s in the AM?

85 miles away, so...probably a shade over an hour to get there, and maybe an extra 15 mins to return...

Ready or not, here I come......Monday night sounds good for the TGF gathering...hope a bunch of folks can make it, looking forward to seeing new friends and old friends/buddies/pals

Dennis, will call when I get to town (got your message last night after I was out freezing my parts off watching the Beach Boys on Cocoa Beach)...

Ryan, what's a good number for you to arrange the pickup time for Sunday?

Cisco, will be in touch when I get there to arrange things.

I'm upgraded on both segments, so I might be toasted on arrival.

See ya!
