Steve and I tried this before, but people whined about driving to Tucson.... We'll try it again: any of you AZ folks interested in a Gathering? We'll drive north if that's where you want it!

I'm planning on living in Scottsdale starting in May. If you're still up for it then...

Well, I'm no longer a Taylor owner, but I am in the Phoenix area. Does that count?
Is there pizza involved? :)

I just talked to my friends in Tucson and it's about time for me to come visit. I may be up for it depending on airline prices at the time. But then again...if Ryan comes I may be pursuaded to not show up. I vote for Tucson!

All the more reason to have it in Phoenix :p

Looks like this won't happen - however, Jennifer, if you come to town email me and let me know. You can have dinner with me and Steve, and jam! A mini-gathering....

You got it! I may head out sometime during the summer if I can. I miss the 110 degree heat. :D

What happened?
I tried this awhile back also and couldn't get enough interest. I would like to do something, I'm up in the Prescott area but would be willing to try to come south. I guess I'm just bumping this to the top still hoping...

hmmmm....I guess that means that it has to be in Tucson. Why else would Ryan be willing to pick up Steve on his way to AZ? It's out of the way if it was held in PHX, but on his way if it's held in Tucson. :D I highly doubt anyone is going to want to have a gathering in Yuma.
So....HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! :p

Ryan is just jealous of me. That's why he can't stand to be near me. It makes him look small and weak in comparission. HAHAHAHA!!!   :p

Well, I'm pumped! Shall we try this again? Steve and I will be happy to meet in the middle somewhere in AZ, and we'd love to meet the CA guys! Are you serious Steve314 and Ryan?

I'd be up for a get together, I'm up in Prescott so I don't have any Phoenix connections but I'm in for suggestions.
I checked out your web-site Charisse and saw your KS favorites. Small world, I lived in Olathe, KS and used to visit Lawrence.
Beautiful area! Loved the green, I'm so used to AZ that I almost OG'd.

Unfortunately, no one in PHX has come forward to host...and I'm not familiar with dealers or places to play there. Any ideas?

Now THAT could indeed be a problem....

It would depend a lot on when it's scheduled. With the Spring and Summer coming up, the ol' schedule gets pretty tight pretty fast...

The problem is that there really isn't anything in AZ in terms of dealers. Until Guitar Center started breeding out there, Tucson only had Guitars Etc. and they only had a handful of Taylors. Rainbow was trying to become a dealer, but hadn't by the time I left. I'm guessing that an AZ gathering is going to completely depend on someone stepping up and offering to host whether at their house or a business/church they are associated with. Let me know what happens.

Jennifer, Guitars, Etc has been carrying a very large number of Taylors, and has expanded their acoustic room. Adrian had The Gray Whales, a Pelican, several models of DDSMs, a pallet, Sea turtles, and many ltds and specials. He moved quite a few of the gallery and presentation series guitars before Christmas. Rainbow will not be getting the dealership. He might help us get something together here in Tucson, but it seems no one wants to come here but you!

Well, I live with my parents so I dont know how well my mom would like it if I said, "Hey I just invited a whole bunch of people over I met over the internet to come play guitars with me!"  I dont know, there are lots of nice hotels with meeting areas, I wonder if that's some solution. I dont know, I guess I could go to Tucson, I dont mind, we just should find a place.
Any thoughts?
Aaron
You can count me in if it's in Phoenix or Scottsdale.
I don't drive so Tucson is out of the question.
I might be able to request the use of the community room at my apartment complex in Tempe for an afternoon.

We could drive to Tempe. For you out-of-staters, Tempe and PHX are right on top of each other.

I could DEFINITELY do Tempe forsure. That's like, 10 minutes down the road.
Tempe is the coolest place in the Valley. I'm right on Mill Avenue so it's easy to find and if we do it on a Saturday, people could hit Mill on the evening following, which is a definite experience. I figure they'll probably let us have 10-15 people present at least and maybe more. Just to let folks know in advance, the rules for private use prohibit the use of alcohol or tobacco in the community room.
Let me know (pshickey@msn.com) who is interested and what date would be best and I'll put in the request with management and e-mail all interested parties directions.
