I'll be there! Doing some showcases too (Indiegrrl, Insurgent Folk, Taytrix, etc,)

I know the tours are on Wed., but how many and when? Need to know whether I have to fly in Tues. (and crash with friends or get cheaper digs than Town & Country for the night).

I hope to see you at NAFA, Sandy. I'll be hitting as many guerilla showcases as possible. I tend to spend way too much time at the Taylor booth too. :)

There'll be quite a few Chicago area folkies represented in San Diego. Do you know SOTNW? They just gave a great house concert last Sunday for us!

Found out that the tour is Wed. at 1; Taylor is providing a free bus from the Town & Country at 12:30. Got a cheaper room for Tues. night (checking in to the T&C Wed. morning before the tour). I'll be showcasing for Taytrix Thursday night, Indiegrrl and the Room of Abundant Kindness Fri. night (and shooting a live video late Fri. aft., so y'all come!), and Insurgent Folk on Sat. aft. plus emceeing Indiegrrl Sat. Will take any other showcases I can shoehorn in. You can always get in touch with me via the Indiegrrl table in the Exhibit Hall, which I suspect may be a home-away-from-home. (Love to find a humorous music showcase--one of my songs just made Dr. Demento's Funny Five last week). And Rich, I do know Sons of the Never Wrong (Nancy's a fellow Chi. Songwriters' Collective member and Bucky writes grants with a friend of mine). They are terrific!

If you get a chance, go see Mack Bailey perform. He's got a killer voice! I'm not sure when he's playing, only that he's scheduled to perform there. Wish I was going......

I was at the Folk Alliance today, and got to hang with this guy. Well, for a little bit, anyway:

From the look on his face, I'd say Arlo's Hookah collection is getting quite a bit of use...http://www.lespaulforum.com/forum/images/smilies/hippy.gif

Sooo......didja get him to switch to Taylors exclusively? I passed him in the hall Thursday but was too awestruck to say hi. Did talk to Tom Paxton, however. Meanwhile, how about last night's concert---who knew Grisman would sit in with the New Lost City Ramblers?

That was absolutely KILLER! I'm not too into bluegrass, but those guys were smokin'. Definitely a nice change of pace from what I usually listen to.

As far as I know, Arlo's still slingin' a Martin.

By the way, nice to meet you, Sandy...

The pleasure was all mine, Steve! And Rich From Milwaukee too! Nice to know we're on the same philosophical wavelength. Only flaw was that I didn't win that sweet new 812ceES. Dang!

Did you see the winner when they called his name? He freakin' flew onto the stage. He was excited, to say the least...

Wow ... another great Folk Alliance. It was great to meet you, Sandy! Steve - I saw Arlo but you weren't next to him at the time -- oh, well, maybe in Montreal next year.

One of the highlights for me was seeing Christine Kane's showcase. The first time we saw her was in our living room!

Used to be I'd see this much guitar greatness and I'd want to burn my guitar. Now I just want to work harder and learn more.

Peace...
