Who in North Texas would like to start getting together, say a couple of Friday nights a month?

I'd really like to start jammin with some guys/gals and even do a little ensemble where we might do an open mic or something. I am mostly interested in Country but would do Eagles or other "Americana" tunes as well. I can do rhythm for now and maybe even backup sing abit!

But for now, a little jamming a couple nights a month might be fun!

P.S. GWright, your cell number doesn't work anymore!

I'd be up for that....I don't know a whole lot of country tunes...but it is definitely a genre I like a bunch (grew up in a small country town). Shoot me an email at wkilgore@amsis.com if you have some specifics in mind.

I'll send you an email. For the record I was thinking of doing something like 1st and 3rd Friday or something. We could do it at my house or rotate it around. I can handle 4-6 people with ease.

May I suggest for those interested that we name about 6-12 songs to start with? I am open to anything. What do you think?

Who can sing a bit?

Although most would probably disagree, I've sang some. I did a few songs in our cover band....but I have to play pretty simple rhythms if I'm singing.

Man, I wished I lived closer -- I can sing, but San Antonio is a bit far away.

Sounds like we've got some participants!

Lets start thinking about the 9th or the 16th. We can do this at my house as a get started kinda thing.

Maybe about 7:00 or 8:00 and go to whenever. I'll have to run it by the wardon...uh wife:roll: , but I don't think it will be a problem!

Let me know your thoughts!

Taygull, good to hear from you the other day. I am still in the process of "detoxing" from my Houston experience. I would love to come out and join you guys and girls if I don't have a gig. Did you say singing:eek:   ...excellent!

Hope you and the rest of the Texas and Okie crowd are having a Happy Holiday.

Your friend,

Chip Evans

Chip, I was worried the "pinkeye" was fatal, I think that was the last time we had a lengthy conversation. You know you are more than welcome and would elivate the talent level.

What gigging are you doing?

I started a new job 2 weeks ago, love'n it! I hope we can get together soon as I have been hanging out with Riley! My right brain is hard at work!

Guys and Gals, any thoughts on the 9th or the 16th?

Confirming that I received the "official" nod from she who must be obeyed. I'll try to get some songs together. Here are a few suggestions:

L.A. Freeway - Jerry Jeff
Marguartiville - Jimmy
Small Town - Mellankamp
Pink Houses - Mellankamp (In honor of A1rh0pper)
Turn the Page - Bob Seger
Knockin on Heaven's Door - Dylan
Brown Eyed Girl - Morrison
Peace Train - Cat Stevens (Not because of the politics, just because it is similar to Brown Eyed Girl)
Can't You See (What that woman's been doing to me) - Marshall Tucker
Aimee - ?

Just some stuff off the top of my head. Let me know what you think.

My email is a little messed up so I will respond (A1) to you from the office on Friday with directions.

OK here is my feeble attempt to distribute (not publish) some songs to use when we get together. I have some web space and placed the songs under my Music Page titled 2004 Set List.

I could possibly add some songs. Forgive the choices of songs. It's just a starting place.

Click here...2004 Set List (http://home.sw.rr.com/wichitalineman/2004%20Set%20List.htm#_Toc61339718)

Let me know what songs you'd like to add.
