Everyone who is within a couple hours of Tucker Gawga pleas email me and sign up for a future get together. If you are farther but don't mind the drive you may ignore the two hour respite and sign up any way. We need your email , mailing addy if you like phone if not or preferably both and news of a jam at the Tucker Studio will be announced in a later posting in this same Forum. This is not going to be an all encompasing meet but will be limited to those of a feather<read Taylor trash and folk of redeemable spirit and will be planned at or about the time that we can get everyone intersted in the drive. I am going to put on the dog , er that is pig and we will pick till we bleed . It will be definitely be a show and tell and songwriters are particularly encouraged. If you are secular musically inclined or spiritual musically inclined there will be not descrimination or bally hoo. Its all about the music this go round and the wood and steel. If you are looking to check out your XYZ Taylor wood combination and see if it will hang with the dreads or finger with the Walnuts bring it on . The dates and destinations will all be announced right now we are feeling the turf to see how many like the destination. There are nearby hotels for any who might think it should be an all nighter and I recommend the eleven O'clock Sunday am at Peachtree Presbyterian for those so inclined . You would see an KOA in action at that one. LOL Also there is a songwriting group I participate in that will be invited once I sort all this out as to when It would be best. Put your input into the program NOW as to the dates that work best for you . Hey we aim to please and it will be a really fun time If I have anything to do with it .

So begin by sending the email marked ''LIST"" on the subject and you will be on IT. Details will follow and suggestions welcomed.

Remember No good deed goes unpunished so lets sign up and get this thing in gear.

Any dates set up for this? My input would be, let's wait until it warms up just a little bit. Maybe sometime in April?

Stixx

I agree and that is the plan so far, the lead time will be less if we wait but that doesn't seem to be a big problem . One or two of our folk interested need a couple extra weeks notice to plan so we were orignally thinking spring break (Easter) but that would not work for young parents and vacation or for Worship leaders so at the moment I am thinking march which is right around the corner , I will probably pick a two date margin and email everyone the dates to vote on and then choose the one that gives the most folk a shot. Some wont know until the very weekend it happens as is the case for at least one I know of . If you are not on the email list (dont assume you are send it to me along with real name (no last needed just first name if you tend to be private ) so I can add you to the emailing list. Hopefully we will have decent weather and do some fun photos of all the guitars together as well as the homely owners <TIC

From the emails so far we are going to have a very nice group of we can just get the date right.

Thanks guys good interest levels so far. :) :) :)

I will be posting individual emails to all the responsives soon but we got it narrowed down to last of March, First week in April two week period and one of those weekends as soon as we get everyones take on it will likely be it as well as my own schedule makeing sure no conflicts . This would be prior to Spring break which for some is the ninth of April forward so we want to stay clear of that becuse of family events which might conflict. I will email out the first of next week when I get this sorted out better . This is just a cheap post to do what cheap posts do .
Uh does anyone know what cheap posts do? Hmmmm:roll:

The Date is set for the First Annual Tucker Taylor Trials for Saturday March 27th and you will all be getting emails today that have emailed me.

This should be a good time weather and still not interfere with young familys trying to get to the beach for spring break. Did I say families spring break and beach in the same breath. LOL

Must have been a different movie. LOL

OK so we are all set the email will have details and directions but get theat dealer to get the one more Taylor order filled and lets have some fun picking and piggin out. Last time I has a party the caterer had so much stuff Im still eating it so we need you to bring your appetite for good guitars and FOOD. LOL As I said details in the mail.

If you have not signed up for this event and are close enough to join in the fun it is not too late just send me your info at

reassoc1@bellsouth.net and we can get you on. RSVP's are set at March 15th and due to the food requirements no RSVP no can come LOL Well , I doubt I would throw someone out , especially if he had a SM Taylor he wanted me to test out for him or her. LOL
By the way , no lady Taylor pickers as yet and we want to make sure you are welcome as well.

Remember come prepared to play and talk guitars to your fingers are bleeding and your voice is gone. We will stay all day till the dogs start barkin' and I will make sure they got plenty of hushpuppies.

Well, Trey, that doesn't sound all bad at all. However, could I at least get to play the Collings before you run off to TN with it??!!

The date is firm. The event will be All day Saturday the 27th of March from about ten for those close until ten . No one has to be there at ten nor stay till ten but all I am saying is no one will be run off cuz you showed up late. Some of the preachers might have a call duty and as I said no one left out. Final count is March 15 and if you aint on the RSVP by then you get soda crackers instead of food. LOL <TIC

Alright - that's fair enough I suppose. Wish the Goodall was going to be there in time so we could fight over it too. :)

Funny you should mention that Trey. I found out yesterday at Maplestreet that the owner orderd a maple jumbo same time as mine and in conversation yesterday with her about it the del date on heres was March A MONTH earlier than mine orderd the day before.

Needless to say I asked her what is that all about. She looked rather sheepishly and admitted she'd have to call and see what the story was on that but we all know the real anwer. Only thing I can think of is mine is sold so i get second fiddle to store stock. Not my idea of good PR . I hope Im just being overly sensitive to this but something is rotten in Denmark if you ask me LOL

I will fantasize that they realize this was a public realations boo boo and get mine built first . That'll teach me to prepay. That wont happen again. The only reason I did it was cuz im so fickle I migh see something else I wanted before it gets built. LOL

Man GAS has worse problems thant TAS, I thought waiting for the Cindy was tough , this is four times as long a wait . Starting to get paranoid already , thats not a good sign. he he he. You guy are bringing your serious wood down here too you know that sneakin out the back door stuff works both way. There is a certain little 12 than almost made it to my car last time I went north and it could possibly not make it back on the bus going home this time too. LOL <TIC:roll:

Yeah, I wish it would be there as well, not to fight over, but just to get to play it! I know I couldn't afford the likes of the Goodall. Last time I played for someone, they suggested I take up Golf. So, I took them to the driving range and hit a small bucket of balls for them. Then they asked me if I enjoyed reading!

'Ya see, Stixx, if you had "stayed the course" and ordered a Taylor, you wouldn't be enduring such an agonizing wait! Of course, I'm not too worried about my little 12 not making it back to the bus, since you are already of the opinion "all Taylors sound the same!" Obviously, you wouldn't need 6 Taylors to take up valuable space at your house or to contribute to "more of the same" kind of sound. So, I will not be concerned about the little 12 getting lost in a sea of Taylor wood in "Jaw-Ja." <TIC>

I'll be there, it's for sure now.
Startin' to get a little worried about which geetars to bring with all this talk about stuff goin out the back door or getting lost in the house.
I may have to think twice about bringin one of the Goodalls inside.
Guess I'll just have to guard it. My CWP is good in Jaw-Ja so I'll just keep the .45 handy.

Oh great , ricks, now we goin' have a shootout at the not so OK Corral with the Cephas going to the quickest draw.

I have to warn you , I draw for a living.

OH wrong kind of draw.:(

Seriously, ricks, I hope you are bringing all of them as I have never had the opportunity to play any of the ones in your collection.

ricks
02-11-2004, 07:23 PM
SCTP, I probably won't bring all of them. That might be a bit much for me on a trip like this. What I was planning on would be the Cephas and one of the Goodalls. If that don't hold me over nothing will.
I'll have to think more on it as we get closer.
BTW, IF you ever get to play a Larrivee LV-10 Walnut/Cedar, let me know right away. According to them I got the only one they ever made like it.

Will do ricks. I haven't been to a store lately that carries Larrivee's, but I will be on the lookout for one like yours. Glad you are bringing the Cephas and a Goodall. I look forward to seeing a playing them. Anything in particular you want me to bring?

you gotta bring your cindy and coco for sure

ricks
02-12-2004, 05:17 PM
Yea, definitely bring the 912. I still think I want a small body, just not sure which one. Course if Stixx has his Goody by then we can try a "different" small body!

SCTaylorPlayer
02-12-2004, 09:06 PM
That's true, ricks, we could if Stixx's "Goodie" shows up by then. Of course they could be all out of purple hearts, thereby slowing the whole process down. Maybe we need to send some type of alert to the "Goodie" folks to let them know the urgency of this matter. Ok, looks like there is a concensus on the 912, and in deference to our esteemed host, the coco will also make the trip. If things are settled on the "yama mama" by then, might throw it in as well.

Yall just make sure you got pleanty room in the trucks for haulin stuff back this thing is liable to turn into a swap meet. LOL

ricks
02-15-2004, 09:43 AM
The way things are going, and with people wanting me to bring "everything", I may have to rent a small trailer just to get
there. Maybe my trip home will be the "light" load after the
swap meet.

He's not half as bad as everyone says he is.... :ha:

No problem , John, thanks , I will , and you will be a welcome calming force in our august group I am sure. It seemed like a
long way off at first , now March is ever so close and I am starting to get exciting. We have some RSVP's already and it promises to be a good comfortable group so far. I also am planning couple of intersting surprises , more on that later. :)
