Anyone interested in an indoor get - together this winter? Or, maybe a spring weekend campout in Central Oklahoma?

Hey!
Good to see another OKIE on the boards!
I grew up in Oklahoma City and went to school up at Oklahoma State.
But, now I live in Chicago.
But, seriously if I'm back visiting at the same time of your event....I'm there!

I'd like to get together with some fellow pickers. I"m down in Norman.

There is an Oklahoma Fingerstyle Guitar Club of which I am a member. We just had a meeting in Ardmore Nov 1 that was fairly well attended. We are meeting again Nov 29 in Glencoe (up by Stillwater). However I would be glad to meet in OKC or just about anywhere else. Always glad to meet new people and pickers.
I live in Ardmore.

I know I'm not from Oklahoma and all....but if you were so gracious as to let me attend...I'd be there.

Hey, we're only enemies the first or second week of October. Seriously, be glad to have you anytime. We probably won't meet in Ardmore again until next March or so, but if you want to make the drive up to Glencoe the 29th, we would be glad to have you. We had several Texas pickers at our last Ardmore meeting. It was a good one.
Go to http://www.geocities.com/oklahomafingerstyleguitarclub/ and check out the club site. The meeting times, etc. will always be posted there.

Hey,
Good to know there is some interest here.
Just got back in town and saw the replies. I'd like to offer some suggestions when I get over the jet-lag.

I am another Texan, located just south of the Red River. I'm not sure but will I need a pass or a permit to cross into Oklahoma?
Anyway, I too am interested in getting together. I will not be able to make the Novmember 29th. Keep us posted.

For folks coming up from Texas, maybe a weekend get together might be best.
I would suggest Guthrie for a start. It's a small historic town with a couple of museums, antique shops, Byron Berline's Fiddle Shop and a great camping area right in town. Things to do for the non-pickers or spouses. Any thoughts?
Or maybe a single evening get together in Oklahoma City during the winter. I can provide a location with a sound system in OKC.
suggestions?

Hey Flyswatter,
Yeah, I'm near I35 & 15th. I'm not an acomplished player,
but I really enjoy picking and learning from others. My talents lie
in organizing things.
Hope we can get some people together to do this.
I like all kinds of music. So all styles are ok with me if we do this.
