I'm hoping to get together with some people in the Philadelphia Pa. area.
Anyone close enough?

Welcome to the forum, BQ.

There are a few people in the central NJ area, as well as a few from the suburbs of Philly. What did you have in mind?

Thanks for the welcome Scott.

I've been away from serious guitar playing for about 5 years and have just been bitten by the bug again. Looking for like minded people who enjoy playing.
Would be up for small or larger groups. Just wantto play. You know?

I don't live up there, but I do go up to the Allentown area and Egg Harbor, NJ area once a month or so.

Phil...I didn't know you ventured out this way. Next time you're in the area, you can stop by and pick up your new amp! :p

Hi Phil,

Let me know when you'll be heading up this way again.

Hey Brian,

Notice you have the '03 714-ce ltd in your signature -- it that one of the Summer Strummers? Way cool -- we should start a club...

Used to work/live in the Exton/West Chester area -- in FL now though.

Oh yeah -- welcome to the Fam.

Hey Keith,

Yes, it's a summer strummer. I love the cocobolo. Nice bass without overpowering the rest of the tonal range. Best light strummer I've heard in a long time.
I'm in Phoenixville.
I used to live in Ormand by the Sea, Just north of Daytona.

I keep telling my wife that since I got the guitar from you I should get the amp, too.

So far, she's not buying it...

:p

I'm gonna keep working on it, though...

I also live in central NJ and I'm always looking for someone to get together and play with.. Far from professional, just love to play..

Best of luck,

Perhaps we should get together for cawfee next time Phil's in town? I don't know of any guitar shops in the Philly area, but have car, will travel. We could go to the Guitar Center in Langhorne (which has a TON of Taylors, btw)... :D

I know, I know...Guitar Center. But I'm open to suggestions...

YES!!!! I am in Philly. Fairmount area (behind the Historic Eastern State Prison) near the Art Museum.

Drop me an email.

Have you guys heard of the Delaware Fingerstyle Association? They meet once a month at West Chester Music in Malvern. West Chester Music on Rt30 has a nice selection of Taylors and even more at their home store which I cannot think of where it is at the moment. They will beat any price you can get from Sam Ash or Guitar Center for a Taylor.

Hey everyone,

I'm up for getting together anywhere. I like to drive so whatever is good for you. I have the roomates from hell so I'm unable to host at my house but will ask around and put something together for a Sat or Sun before Christmas.
When is good for you guys? I have my kids every other weekend but they like tagging along so whenever is good for me.
I'll find somewhere and post by weeks end.

Brian

Hey, by the way, I just ordered a Martin D-42.

I live about 40 minutes east of philly and I'm up for anything... There's not too much out my way in terms of good Taylor shops but I'm willing to travel.

Go Phantoms!

Yes, I'm a Phoenixville Alumni - '77 - no don't go look up my pic, it's scary. :) Family left that area in late 77 and I've never really been back. Used to live over on Tyler Ave. about 1.5 miles from the HS.

Ah, let's see the things I miss most:

The scent of wild honeysuckle on the back road to Swiss Gardens which was a Japanese garden. :) Don't know if it's still there.
The Vale-Rio (went to school with one of the nephews).
The Colonial which I hear has reopened.
Biking to Valley Forge
Sledding in VF.

Man - whether you like it or not, we're now "family."

Hey, by the way, I just ordered a Martin D-42.

Pre-Christmas is going to be tough for me personally...lots of things going on. I don't even currently own a Taylor (or any decent acoustic) so let's get together at a guitar store. :D

If somebody wants to take the reins and do something before Christmas, go for it...I'll be there if I can be. Otherwise, I'll be happy to help put something together in the dreary late-winter days to help cheer us all up. :)

Ever hear of the Play Trains?

Started in the mid-80s, in Westfield...height of popularity was probably early-mid 90s. They're still playing infrequently today, mostly in Hoboken.

Sorry for the delayed reply. Things got too crazy.

The holidays are too close. We could do something at my house after the New Year. I'm just looking to get together for a Jam is all. Start to give me an idea of how many people can make it and what would be the best day for you all.

Any Saturday will work. Give me a date and I'll see if I can fit it in. School starts again on Jan 12th so anytime after that guarantees, I am not going out of town.
