I had such a good time. I arrived at the motel and met up with Jim Tozier, CaptBill, Tom and Vicki Bond, Rejoice Music, Doc Jacobs, and Jennifer Meinel for dinner and enjoyed the food and company immensely. After dinner, we took over the Hotel lobby/breakfast nook and played guitars and visited until after mid-night. The next day was a whirlwind of meeting/greeting/jamming/workshops/openmic and yes, food and fun. Like CocoboloGuy, I'll feel bad if I leave any names out - I truly enjoyed meeting all of you. Deltoid, awesome rendition of Over The Rainbow. You are extremely talented. TimmyPack, thanks for not scratching my 954 :). Lauren, you have a great voice and good stage presence - it was nice to meet you. JW and Mrs. JW, what a combination of funny and sweet. Thurmabus, loved your songs and playing. Effortless is the word I would use to describe your fingerstyle playing. JR Baker, you are even more of a character in person than online (who would-a thunk?:)) Thanks for the SoundSeat. I love it. Doc Jacobs, love that 812 of yours and those originals you played. Sorry I forgot to give you gas money for the trip to Logans ;). Tom and Vicki, I'm glad we met and I look forward to the next time. I see Jim Tozier, CaptBill, and Jennifer a little more often - as always, it was great spending time with y'all. I was regretting having to follow you in the Open Mic session. Rebecca, I'm glad you found the forum. It was a pleasure to meet you and hear you play/sing. Hope your house is safe.

What a nice collection of guitars too. Thanks to Marion Holloway and Rick Crider. Lots of time, work and money went into this event.

I know I spoke to and enjoyed meeting more of you, but I am not the greatest at remembering names.

John

PS Open Mic disclaimer: I play every Sunday at church and at weddings occasionally, but I have never been so nervous - I don't know why. Also, for the Puddle of Mud tune, I had intended to break out into some power chords...but I forgot to take a pick up front with me and didn't even remember that I would need one until I had started playing....Amatures, I tell ya....that's me. :)

Great to meet you Cakes. If you want to get picky about the gas, I figure it probably ran a little over 1 cent. Catch ya' next time!

Hey, Cakes!

I loved your open mic segment! And you played a couple of my favorites...
