Yes...the TGF gathering in Monroe, I assume, is still going on! I had to come back before the evening activities, but I'm sure they're still having a great time.
I was especially impressed by the skills of the open mic performers. There are some really talented individuals around this forum!
We signed a bunch of stuff...three baby Taylors, a maple guitar stand, and some signed checks written out to Marion Holloway.

amen to what timmy said......great event, rick did a great job of organizing (no surprise there).....good 'clinic' events, marion holloway and his staff were great hosts...got to meet bnjp, wpjr, cdt, capt. bill (ask about the coco buttons on my 714-ce-ltd), thurmabus, lauren coggins, timmy, cakes, rejoice music (rebecca...she's a very talented lady), mickey, jr baker, jw and mrs jw, doc jacobs, and catch up with jim tozier, rick, jeff, jennifer, and mike woo...sure that i forgot folks, but then I've slept since then
we were guessing at dinner last night that there were 60+ people thru-out the day, and almost 40 went to dinner...where robert and jeff and rebecca played for us. Great day!

Just wanted to be one of the first (of many) to post my appreciation for yesterday's Taylor meet here in North Carolina.
As you guys have already stated it was a fantastic time.
I never imagined it would be so much fun. To begin, just putting faces to names (or forum handles) was a great thrill. On top of that to quote Cocobolaguy "if it weren't for a geeky kid with a dream to make guitars 30 years ago, none of us would have been there"
My favorite part was definately the open mike. What a tremendous amount of talent gathered in one place. I was probably the most inexperienced player there so needless to say my guitar never came out of my car. It was however very enlightening to see such fabulous players as Stan, Jeff, Jim Tozier
and everyone doing what they love. Rebecca Muller (Rejoicemusic) and Wade Thurman (Thurmabus) amazed me when they played and sang together, having never played together before they played incredibly, music they had only ever shared together online via this wonderful age of technology. Wade I want you to know you brought a tear to my eyes on several tunes and that is not something I readily admit.
Even the folks who were nevous and reluctant showed me how much I have to learn and that the joy of playing can overcome everything else. (yes, I'm just a closet picker myself)
I will again thank Rick Crider and Holloway's Music crew for all the hard work and effort they put into this event. And to all the folks who travelled so far cross country to make it. I was privilaged to meet all of you, Capt. Bill, Jim, Jennifer, Rebecca, Mr. & Mrs. JW (I signed his baby too), J.R. Baker and Jack (yes folks their Soundseats are every bit as awesome as they look), John, Lauren C., CocobolaGuy, ....Great stuff gang. Keep up the good work and I hope and pray everyone had a safe trip home. Rick lets see some of that fabulous photography posted here soon.

I too had a blast, though I intended to come to dinner and couldn't find the dang place...what a goober...
I just want to thank the folks who travelled a long way to come to this one--Tbondo, Wade, Cakes, Capt. Bill, Rebecca, MichaelW, and others from non-local areas or states....it was just a treat to meet you all and put some real faces with those names. I'd thoroughly enjoy the chance to do it again whenever the next one happens to be, and would love to see you all again.
What a great group of people we have on this forum!

Just wanted to chime in with my thanks for Marion Holloway and Rick Crider. I had a blast and also enjoyed meeting so many great people. (gush, gush). The food, folks and fun don't get any better. And my wife wasn't *too* upset with me for coming home with a JR Baker SoundSeat. [*Relief!*] I'm not going to name names because I don't want to leave anyone out, but what a fun time and what great people and amazing talent. I was terrified in Open Mic, but it was fun and like Wade said, it reminds us of the importance of practice! :)
Can't wait till the next one. It was well worth the trip.

Great news, Michael! I have been thinking of you and Rebecca a lot since Saturday, hoping that everything would turn out OK.
Really enjoyed meeting you, and getting a chance to try your redwood/ziricote guitar. That is one of the prettiest guitars I've ever seen . . .
