Hi guys, I have a question for those of you who have experienced in any form of Taylor gatherings before (other than the Taylorstock, because that was a very highly specialised form of gathering, if you know what I mean). I am trying to organise something for a couple of fellas in my region, and would appreciate some help with these questions:

1. What would a typical programme for a gathering be like?
2. How long is the gathering?
3. What kind of place is suitable for the gathering?
4. What sort of costs are incurred for the organising? And how to you cover the costs?
5. What is the usual turnout number? I am expecting our group to be no more than 10 because the number of TGFers from our region is small.
6. Any other advice or issues that I should be alerted on?

Thanks. Really appreciate your help.

I hosted one and have been to a few others. We just hang out, play our guitars, show them off and talk about guitars. Sometimes the host provides lunch and the group then goes out for dinner. It can be all day or just an afternoon. It kind of depends on who attends. Others have been able to use a church and others coordinate with a music store like the one that will be in North Carolina next month. If you want, you can have an "open mic" time where people can play a song for the group. I don't know how the cost works when a gathering is sponsored by a music store, but it doesn't cost anything to have a few people over to jam for a few hours. That's really what it's all about anyway. :)

Just a few random thoughts...Have fun.

Cakes is pretty much right on the money.

Out of all the ones I've attended, the most fun are always the most casual.

Just hang out, meet some nice folks, play some pretty guitars. Not a bad way to spend the day. :)
