Met some great people at Gryphon Stringed Instruments in Palo Alto. Met a few great guitars as well. Frank Ford was kind enough to take us on a virtual tour of the Taylor Factory via his awesome slideshow and narrative. Thanks Frank! Here's a link if anyone would care to have a peek: photos (http://edg.cc/taylor)

Thanks to all who attended, I'm looking forward to the next one.

Now you're talkin! I can't help but think that a couple of those Mojitos would have loosened up the groove a little. We might even have ventured away from the key of "E". It's good to have goals.

Thanks, 'Cat. This whole "Blues in E" thing is overblown. I saw a C chord, a G and even an A minor in those pictures. This was a versatile group of musical artists.

Last to weigh in... ;)
These SF TGF guys are some amazing players, and singers, and writers, and of course, have a collection of exquisite guitars...
Proy turned out not to be the recently retired, soon to be Hall-of-Fame goalie, but a fine Aussie guitarist...
I think I kept up with everyone on, ummm... Frank Ford's Taylor tales and slide show! :D (but that's right about where I'd expected to be)
Thanks for sharing and inspiring,
Liz

Joe, the rents are a little higher in Manhattan than on the bad side of Palo Alto (ok....Palo Alto doesn't really have a bad side....other than the Stanford campus).
Gryphon's group lessons room (where we had our get-together) was very commodious (no, that word doesn't mean "toilet-like").

Yea, but I could have sworn he was using a puck for a pick.

Did anybody try out the wild koa guitar built by Sergei de Jonge?
I have 2 guitars being built (Avalon Legacy jumbo and Wayne Henderson 12 fret 000) with the same wood from the same tree.

Thanks for posting the picks. I hop to do the same for the So Cal Camping trip.
Proy, thanks for the reminder to never let anyone take a picture of me with a pick in my mouth.

So you will keep your pick where?
That looks like where I went to school back in the early 60s. JW
