I have absolutely no new information to share - As far as I know, there are absolutely no official or unofficial announcements regarding a Taylorstock II. I just wanted to open up a place to speculate a little bit.

Someone mentioned that perhaps Taylorstock II (which, as JR clearly stated, is not planned at this point) might coincide with Taylor's 30th Anniversary Celibration. If Taylor does plan such an event, I am selfishly hoping it is still geared toward the TGF membership and is not something that is promoted in Wood & Steel. I am very jealous of the special time that TaylorStock I (one) appeared to be. And I realize, as JR said, that the Forum has grown so the number of likely attendees has grown. But I'm still hoping that an event does happen and that it is geared toward the forum membership. I am almost certain that I would attend.

I know many of us would like to go and would try to go if possible, but I am curious about how many of you are at least 95% certain that you would (be able to) attend?

To be clear, (in case you didn't read the first sentence, Taylorstock II is only a dream at this point. Nothing has been planned or announced.) Taylorstock II is not planned at this point.

VERY glad I decided to go to the "first" one!

I haven't a clue as to what next Summer will bring for me personally, but IF the stars aligned, I'd go back in a heartbeat!:)

I hope there's another TaylorStock as the first one sounded like a lot of fun. At the same time, the Forum is not officially part of Taylor, and Taylor needs to consider it's many other buyers too...

As I didn't attend the first one I don't really know all the details, but my understanding was that several people ordered guitars and got to pick out wood with Bob... That's an awesome opportunity, but at the same time a big commitment from the company to do that.

I wonder if part of the reason there's no current plans for another one is because of the amount of effort that Taylor devoted to the project?

There's always the option of having a forum organized event.

I'm also a part of the Martin Guitar forum that's having it's own get together next week. This is a much lower-key affair in the sense that the company is providing a tour (and lunch!) but much of the rest of the event is organized by the group and is kind of casual.

Don't get me wrong, the first TaylorStock sounded great, and I hope they do it again sometime.

I will echo what Joe said. It was great and if everything falls into place, I will be there again.

It's just two hours down the freeway for me, so I'd be there.

I'd be there regardless.

But I think the bigger issue is, too many people know about it and what went on that either it would seriously have to change as an event (ie: no custom guitars; wouldn't be feasable) or enrollment would have to be heavily limited to members that had been here for a certain amount of time or something.

perhaps those went to the first one should be forced to give others a chance.... ? :) Just joking. You're right that most likely the format would have to change if a larger group attended. And that's ok with me. (though it would be nice if it was a smaller group again...as long as I get to go, mind you :D) I hope you're wrong that custom guitars wouldn't be feasible. Certainly, we might not get the same time and personal attention from Bob, which is a huge deal, but I bet they could work something out. After all, they are a business we we are prime potential customers with money in our pockets. It'd be like taking candy from a baby. :)

I don't think they could do what they did the first time again. It was just an amazing amount of work for Taylor and everyone. 30-some-odd people got guitars and it took the better part of 2 days, one night till 2am+. I can't imagine the hoard that would go now!! It would probably be well over 100 people easily.

I don't care if we got guitars or not. Believe it or not, that's not why I went. I went just to see the factory, do the wood grading seminars with Bob and just to meet a bunch of guitar enthusiasts; the guitars we got, for me at least, were just a bonus. A very gracious bonus courtesy of Mr. Taylor.

I've been thinking that after the purchase of the maple 954LTD this fall, I should start saving my money just in case there should be a Taylorstock II next year. I would love to go, and I just might be able to convince my husband to go if I have a few dollars saved. It would be so much fun. Hopefully, it would work out that I could attend. I'm not sure I could buy a custom guitar, too. That would be secondary to the get together. The thing is that if I save the money and it doesn't happen....I'll have money for another guitar. I'm sure there would be an anniversary model of some kind that would appeal to me. So many possibilities!

MAKE it a GREAT day!!!

My reasons for wanting to go are much the same as yours, Jeffrey. But after hearing all the gushing for months about Taylorstock guitars, you can see how it piqued the interest of the rest of us in wanting a similar opportunity.

Ya know, the really funny thing is, they didn't even reach maximum enrollment. I think the limit was 100 or something and we had 60 total (half of which was wive's and children).

Funny how everyone wanted to go after but passed up on the chance beforehand.

I know a lot of folks didn't know until after though (wasn't referring to them).

I knew before hand and was very interested in going, but had neither the money nor the time. Next year I will have both. I didn't *pass*. I didn't have a choice.

Well, I for one HAVE to go. JR needs someone to be his mouth again. hehehe  I claim that job if there ever is another Taylorstock. :p

I loved the first one and would sell my first born for the second one....ok, maybe not my first born, but I wouldn't let a little thing like work or school stop me.

It really wasn't that expensive to go. I think the airfare from Texas was all of $300 round trip and my half of the room was like $150.

Considering how cool it was, my credit card didn't mind afew hundred bucks on it. ;)

I would definitely be there. I went to the first one with the understanding that I really didn't want to order a guitar, just visit the factory. I came home with an order slip for the most unbelieveable guitar imaginable. Master grade cocobolo 814 c with master grade redwood top. I had never seen either of these woods on a guitar and fell in love with both. Steve Parr helped with the order since I didn't have a dealer to order through. He gave us a great deal and even better service. He handled all our phone calls personally and kept us abreast of the status of the order. They came out in no particular order and not at warp speed, but they were worth waiting for. It also gave us some time to save some cash to pay for it. My biggst mistake was not ordering two!!!!!!!!!! mw

What time of year was Taylorstock I? I'm guessing if EVER there were another it would be the same time of year.

I would go if all possible, sounds like a great time. About a six hour drive from AZ. Tank of gas, no problem. Anyone I can pick up along the way??? :)

oh and jmeinel, I was in Israel in 1982. If it was ever posted I missed why you were going or what exactly you were going to see but what an amazing experience it was. I'm fortunate to have had the opportunity to walk around Jerusalem and see it's wonders.

I'd love to go...even if I'm on the wrong (right) coast. Guess I'll have to work on getting my post count up in case there's a cutoff or something! :)

Chris, everything is just two hours down the freeway in SoCal. Unless, of course, you hit traffic...

I will be there (unless dead)......and this time I'm looking at Braz if we get another chance at custom builds....but I'll be there whether that (building guitars) is part of it or not.......I'd love to see the Taylor folks again, as well as new and previously met TGF'ers....maybe cedar/braz in a X14C.
