Check out the thread in Open Mic about kayaking for more information. In a nut shell, we're trying to get a trip to the Nantahala River together later this summer. Post back to the thread in Open Mic and / or send me an email if you're interested.
I'm duplicating this post in the General Discussion as we need to try to get a handle on how many folks are seriously interested. Hope that's within the rules & all, but moderators feel free to delete one of the threads if it is a problem.

Now that they've caught Eric Robert Rudolph, we can relax even more! :ha: (Arrested in Murphy, near the Nantahala.)

You know - a good friend of mine who used to live and work at the NOC picked him up and gave him a ride one time. Folks hitch hike in that area all the time (hikers and paddlers), so it is pretty common to pick up people in the area. He didn't realize who he was till after the fact, but ended up meeting with the FBI and all once he figured it out. Kind of spooky.

Howdy folks !!! Check out our thread about the get together we're planning on the Nanty !
Its a fine class II/III whitewater stream ! Fun for the whoel family.
Also if you're not feeling the whitewater adventure, we will also have available :

restaurants, and gorgeous scenery !!
last but not least :
LOTS OF GUITARS, FELLOW TGF'ERS , A SMALL PA, a chance for fine fellowship, and if there seems to be enough interest my mobile recording rig !!!!!!
So if you live in the southeast (or want to make a long drive), do yourself a favor and check out our thread in the events section ! If this goes off well , perhaps it will become a yearly adventure !!!

I was up there last summer on a hiking, camping, kayaking trip....it's gorgeous! It's a two day drive from Houston....but worth it for anyone that has the time (like us school teachers)...
Just started summer break,
Nate

Nate ,
Are you planning on coming ?
If so, go over to the Events thread and say so, or Email Trey and let him know, he's getting an idea of our numbers !
