Okay, so I couldn't find anyone posting about New England players getting together, so I thought I'd give it a go...

Any interest in Boston or New England-area Taylor owners getting together?

It could be an event or just a jam or even dinner...let me know if you are interested.

Yes. Great idea.

Maybe we can pull some of the NYers like Alchu, Meridian, Guitar dad, etc too.

I've been reading the threads about the Chicago and Washington DC events and it seems like both were good events and had a little under ten people. Something pretty casual that's organized without too much fuss sounds like the best idea for the first event. I think something like that would be fun, and with that number of people could be held at someone's house.

So just as as an opening for discussion, I have an apartment in Arlington which is small but could hold that many, and there's a back yard area if it's nice.

I was thinking maybe a Sunday afternoon....could fire up the bar-b-que if people aren't too worried about a gas grill near all that special wood! Could also hold the guitar part inside.

Alternatively, if you want a more formal location, The Music Emporium in Lexington is a possability for an evening event (though probably not a Sunday.) I haven't asked them but they have done Taylor qorkshops in the evening and might be willing.

I'm live in Littleton Mass. I'd love to participate. I have a couple of kids so I would need to schedule it in... but it sounds like fun! Music Emporium is about 1/2 hour drive for me. I used to take lessons there with Larry Ungar.

I know of about 9 people who have expressed interest, and there may be more so that's worth getting the ball rolling.

So...

1) Day...Do people prefer a Saturday or Sunday afternoon/evening or a weekday? Let me know or post here. I'm thinking sometime in June. I see the So Cal group is going to meet on the 21st or 28th, maybe we should do the same?! (web hook up anyone?!!)

2) Location: I'm in Arlington, MA very near Lexington (not on the T but accessible by bus!) so I'm willing to offer my place, or find a location around here: there's a church hall I might be able to get, or The Music Emporium is a possability too; the advantage of a store is they have cool stuff too look at, but it might be more inhibiting - no food or drink!)

If you want to move into Boston, or out of Boston I'm fine with that too, but someone has to volunteer a location!

Well you're the only person who's come back with a concrete proposal. How about Saturday July 26th? Anyone else interested?

I'll second that motion.

I think we should assume for now that it will be in the immediate suburbs of Boston, (i.e. Arlington  thanks Mike) , but that could easily change if it presents inconvenience to anyone.

There's been little movement on this, so I'll try one last time!
