Please reply with the total number of people who are planning on attending the Get Together. This information will help in the planning of the event.

Example: Yourself + wife + 2 friends = total of 4

Also what would you guys like to BBQ? (BRISKETT, CHICKEN or Other)

Me + Wade + Wife (Karin) = 3

I like chicken. :) I'm sure those two will eat anything. :D

Me + wife + son + dad = 4

2 friends ?

Chicken might be easer and faster to cook at the marina.

I will also be cooking about 80 lbs of crawfish, with corn on the cob, and boiled potatoes. For those who like it spicy!

What time is the event starting and finishing? I am presuming that it is on Saturday only 3/22.

We will be starting to set up everything, 7:00 to 8:00 am.

I was thinking of eating around 1:00 to 2:00 pm. That would hopefully give everyone a chance to arrive.

We can arrive as early as 7:00 am and finish as late in the day as we want.

If some of you guys want to try to make it a 2 day event, let me know. The marina is also like an RV park, so you can bring a motor home and they may also let you set up a tent for the nite.
The only thing is that they would charge you for the over nite stay. If this sounds good to any of you let me know and I will check out availability and cost. If you have any questions you can EMail me at Ast01joe@aol.com If you would like to talk about it, EMail me with your Phone number and I will call you.

Joe

Hrm, wow. I'd dig the hell out of camping. :)

But.. I have dogs I'd have to get home to. I was planning on a there and back the same day (3hrs each way, not too horrible).

I'm planning on leaving my house at 8-9am so I'll get there ~11am-12pm, that sound ok?

Then stay till whenever.. I was assuming 8-9pm or so. I'm sure you'll all be sick of me after 8 or 9 hours anyway. :D

Sounds good.

If we eat around 1 - 2 pm then it would give people from even the Dallas area time to make it for the BBQ.

If things go real well, then maybe next year we might want to make it into a weekend Guitar Fest.:)

Woohoo! I'm game. :)

Probably just me + wife.

Mom's airplane leaves IAH at 1300, so drop off should be around 1100. I'll head for Lake Houston after they get checked in and we say good-byes.

Will bring 615 and 422R.

Grilled chicken is good. Shirley will probably hit the Cajun food table.

Should we sign up to bring anything?

The Guitarman

I can probably spring for the chicken, potatoes, corn on the cob, and the crawfish. I can pick up some bread as well.

Some of the people will have a hard enough time with just the driving, so I would like to make it as easy as I can for everyone.

If you guys would like, maybe you can bring a desert, salid or something like that.

Also is there anything else that you would like to have with the BBQ chicken?

I was thinking of cooking a half chicken per adult, so I hope all you guys have good appetite's. We will also be cooking 60 to 80 lbs of crawfish and potatoes and corn on the cob. The only problem I worry about, is weither or not we will be able to hold a guitar after eating. :D

The food issue is the reason for the RSVP with the total number in your group. We need to know how many adults and how many children. I was thinking maybe a 1/4 chicken per child.

For those of you, who would like to help, we will be starting to set everything up around 8:00 to 9:00 am and we should start cooking somewhere around 11:00 to 12:00.

Please keep in mind that there will be a $5.00 Parking fee per vehicle for the marina and that the drinks will need to be purchased at the marina.

How does this sound to all of you?

Hey, hey. Isn't it wonderful how schedules can change?

It will probably be me + wife + at least four kids. 6. I'll know the for sure number in a week.

I'll bring about 6 gallons of ice cream, Blue Bell, of course.

Any flavor preferences?

I still am unsure that I will attend. We were making arrangements to attend, but my Taylor was stolen. So, I am currently Taylorless, although I do have insurance to cover the loss. At this point, I don't know whether I will have a guitar to share. I might, but it depends on the timing of the receipt of the insurance money and whenever Alamo Music Center gets a 514ce (maybe ES!!) in.

If we do go (and I'll let you know as soon as I can), it will be 2, me + spouse. And, we each won't eat half a chicken each, maybe a quarter each.

Phuuf: I'm sure they'll be more than enough guitars to play. I know I don't plan on sitting there with a guitar in-hand the entire time. :)

Try and make it!

Phuufme - Don't let the lack of a Taylor keep you from being there! It's the TGF South Texas get together. You're a member of the TGF! So come on down.

Exactly! I'm bringing 2 and I'm sure I won't be playin' them both the entire time. Hell, I can barely play one! ;)

Butter Pecan

I'll bring a coconut macaroon pie, made from an old, time east texas family recipe.

an afterthought...

I know how we like good guitars of all varieties so I thought I would mention this. If you have never run across any really good Gibsons, you should go to Fuller's Vintage Guitar on Loop 610 at Yale.

I'm not going to have time to really prepare anything before I come, but how about I bring a bunch of 3 Liters?

Give me an idea of what to get and I'll bring whatever's needed. I'm coming in a pretty small car (possibly 4 people now, Airhopper and his wife, me and my wife) all in my WRX with 3 Taylors. ;)

But I'm sure I can fit a bunch of 3 liters. Let me know. :)

Diet DP

jeffrey

I figured I'd get 2 or 3 regular Coke since I'm guessing most folks will drink it.. ?

Then 1 each Diet Coke, Vanilla Coke, Diet Vanilla Coke, DP, Diet DP, 7up, Diet 7up?, anything else?

Hondo
03-09-2003, 09:42 PM
You may be surprised on the diet coke, jeffrey. I'd get as much of that as regular coke.

jeffrey
03-09-2003, 10:01 PM
Ok, then 2 Coke, 2 Diet Coke and 1 of everything else? :)

Doesn't make a difference to me, I just want to make sure I bring everything. :)

What about cups and ice and stuff? Actually ice would be bad for me seeing as it's a 3 hour drive. :) But cups are NP.

Will TGF t-shirts be ready by the get together?

J.R. could've come if he hadn't been spending so much time hobnobbing with luminaries in CA.
