The brazilian rosewood neck is really special, one of three Jim Olson has ever built! With that hammer tight dovetail neck, the sustain should be incredible.

Yes, that is true. I did notice the layout of his shop, and I have been consistently impressed by how clean and organized he keeps everything. Having been a facilities manager for 20 years, I tend to notice those kinds of things as well. That's most impressive to me.

Not fickle...just holding our breath out here...starting to turn blue...or green with env...er...I mean blue...in anticipation!!!

By the by...do you feel that you see, feel, or hear any improvement in his guitars from say the mid 90's to his present stuff, or do you think that they are very equal in caliber of looks, feel, and tone. Other than this mighty new one you are having made, do you have a favorite year, or years of his production...a favorite vintage, so to speak, and if so, how so?

They say his most collectible are the ones from the mid to late 90's, because the cnc did not come into being until the late 90's. I think age is such a friend to guitars if it is a quality instrument,,,and the Olsons are definitely improving. The Olson 94 dread is my favorite regular player and I enjoy the 96 SJ. So warm and full of character, they are amazing guitars. I have never played a Brazilian Olson and I believe that Jim's most recent guitars are amongst his finest works, So I am quite excited about the guitar coming soon!

Very nicely done. I didn't catch that the neck strap button would be FWI or something similar -- that is just one of those "little" details that struck me.
