How about just a simple "cup of coffee" or "beer and pizza" sometime. Like a Saturday afternoon.
John's Pizza in the Village?
Starbucks -- almost anywhere in the city?
You know, just a meet'n'greet.
We can figure out how to get together with guitars in the spring!
Any takers? Alchu?:)

Hey Joe,
I work in the city...I'm around a lot. I'd be willing to try to figure something out. Drop the wife off at the museum or something, and meet up at Rudy's, maybe? Or is that just asking for trouble?

I'll be in NYC in March. I think it's the weekend of the 15th. A few friends are going to NYC for spring break and I'm going to spend a weekend up there with them. That Sat. would be the best for me. I'd be staying with a cousin right at 46th and 9th, so I could meet you guys anywhere. I'll ask my friends and give you the exact date. You guys do want to hang with me, right????

There's an outside chance that I'll be in New York sometime this Spring. I'll be staying with some friends in Huntington, out on the Island.
Hmmm... this could be fun. A NYTGF get-together and pizza?? More than just a tad tempting...

Well I'm here and my schedule is pretty flexible.
So you guys start suggesting WHEN and we'll see what develops!

I live on Long Island, and work in Manhattan.
I've attended some of the Acoustic Guitar Forums get togethers in the past year, even hosted one at my house in December. I recorded it , and produced a CD of the gathering. Some really good music there! We've been talking about doing them quarterly. The next one up would be a Spring gathering. Maybe we could join forces.

Great! When you have a date for the next one let us know. I'm sure there'll be some interest.

I'd love to go to NYC Joe, I've never been. :)
Maybe I'll get the chance in the near future.

I work in Midtown, but live in the beautiful Hudson River Valley north of the city. I may be persuaded to come into the city on a Saturday...if Cuckoobolo Joe is buying pizza...
March 15th might be a good time. It's far enough in advance to plan for those outside the area who want to join us.
I'm too old for the Village Idiot.

if you guys have some free time on the evenings and want to see a really great band perform, check out the band "cecilia". they play every wednesday night at the vintage cafe in greenwich village at 9pm....every thursday night at the knitting factory also, but those are later gigs that dont start till 11.
anyway, i really recommend seeing them at the vintage cafe. it's a small place, you can get food/beverages, really laid back atmosphere, and the band will interact with the audience all evening long.
for more info on the band, please see http://www.ceciliatheband.com and for their tour schedule, check out http://www.ceciliatheband.com/schedule/schedule.php
i became good friends with the band this past summer when they toured pretty extensively in the wisconsin/illinois area. if anyone wants a preview of their music, you can download mp3's off their website, or i'd be happy to burn copies of a few of their live shows that they've let me record to share with other fans.
let me know! donald.becker@marquette.edu

I'll be in NYC on a permanent basis as of August.
You know, rather than meeting at a starbucks, you could all make a trip to Mandolin Brothers...strum around a bit over there.

Tell you what. Once we dig out, let's figure something out. How's early March sound? The weekend of the 8th or something?
Okay, so I've dug my way out, and yup, looks like my email was answered Joe. Guess i should've looked around a bit more huh? :D
Well I live an hour outside the city, weekdays are crazy (go to college they said, get an education they said), weekends are better, especially Saturdays. I'm up whenever. the weekend of the 8th is particularly good (yeah spring break!).
you're never too old for a night at the idiot
hmm. i'm gonna be 24, and i must be an idiot 'coz i've never heard of the idiot. wha-?

I'm planning to be out of town the weekend of March 8th, but if any of you guys CAN get together then, you should!
We should get together several times a year. Cos we'll never be able to get everybody's schedules to coincide.
I'll say what I've said elsewhere, just do it! :)
Joe, talk with 2-3 people, agree on a date (preferably one where you're going to be in town) as even the location can be coordinated later and then publicize it (and keep on publicizing it, ala Cakes). You'll be surprised who turns up and if its only the 2-3 you're still in for a good time. If the date is right I'll head up there for the weekend, I guess its time to experience Amtrak again and I've got a coupon from the TGF get-together in St Augustine!
We've had a bunch of them down here and they've all been good.

NY members of the Acoustic Guitar Forum will be getting together on Long Island on April 5th. NY TGF members are welcome to join.
See Robin L's Post in the Gigs/Gatherings section of [url]www.acousticguitar.com. You have to go to Guitar Talk and click on that button (which is lower down on the screen,) and that will put you into the Forum. Then, choose the Gigs /Gatherings area.
Hope to see you there!
