Dear Friends, impromptu Monroestock 2009 was a lot of fun! Deltoid and I made the drive down from Winston-Salem NC. Marion was gracious as always. He was delighted that we wanted to carry on the spirit and tradition of Monroestock. As many of you know Marions mom recently past away and naturally he spent these past several months by her side. That coupled with other events and obligations is why Monroestock has not been planned for the past couple of years. Marion is enthusiastic about future Monroestock events and asked me to pass that along to forum members. We had a wonderful jam session in the store. I was floored by the talent of Mr Larry Broome, his playing of Jerry Reed and Chet Atkins music left me with the great need to just put my guitar in the case "hehehe", man what a player. A local talent from the Monroe area is a young man named Shelby who works for Marion, what a great voice and talented guitarist. Todd (deltoid) was smooth and smokin as always. Though the number was small a LARGE time was had, and we achieved what I so much desired, that the tradition of Monroestock continues on. I look forward to the next Monroestock and hope to see you there.
