FARM, Folk Alliance Region Midwest, opens for registration Tom'w 10/8 at 4 pm at the Bolingbrook Holiday Inn, on Remington Blvd just n. of the intersection of Interstate 55 and IL 53. Stay over, elsewhere or commute, eat anywhere--you have lots of options, including catching the performances and then joining the jamming for just ten bucks an evening.
Several new features this year:
Available shuttle service from Midway, O'Hare and the Joliet rail station
Hands-on workshops on singing, guitar, performance and writing
A welcome reception with open bar tomorrow night, followed by a showcase and then jams
Keynote speech (a first for us) Fri. night by the legendary singer-songwriter-multi-instrumentalist (including 12-string whiz) Claudia Schmidt
A Folk-DJ meet & greet late Sat. aft--got an acoustic CD? Here's how to get it to someone who can give it airplay (as long as you register).
Even cloth tote bags instead of paper folders! Sling yours over your arm and free up a hand to schmooze (or hold the beverage of your choice).
An indoor pool & hot tub open late into the night!
