Spoke to Maurice at Alamo music in S.A. on Friday an he said that Dan was coming in March.
i swasn't sure if Jefferey had posted anything on the forum about his yet, but I don't see anything.
Does anybody still want to incorporate a clinician or jsut do it on our own. ?????

If its in or around San Antonio, count me in. A clinician would be great if it can be worked out.

They keep just arbitrarily saying "March" or "April" but nothing is still set.
The way it's been going, I wouldn't bank on it until they have a firm date.

I just realized that March isn't good for me. I hope it's in April.

Need to fess up one little thing here... (this will only really pertain to SA-area folks).
Tommy and I sorta had a falling out I guess you'd say a month and a half ago or so. So I washed my hands of the whole Taylor thing at his store (all I ever got out of him was "I called, I dunno dude!" anyway).
The short of it is: we were jamming in a cover band together. I told him going into it I wasn't sure if it was right for me. I hadn't played covers in 15 years and really didn't like the idea of it, but it was an excuse to jam, so I said I'd try it. After about two months, I decided it just wasn't worth it to me. I have so little free time as it is that if I'm going to spend it all on a band somewhere, I'd rather it be an original thing.
So I told him that I didn't want to do it anymore. I figured; best to tell him now before we actually had gigs and whatnot (we barely had a set and a half worth of songs).
Well he got pretty irate about it. Got pretty personal with some of his comments (about this and a previous band and about my ability and dedication) and that I wasted his time even though he learned songs he's going to play any way with people he's going to play with anyway (doesn't make much sense, does it?). So I dropped it at that; washed my hands of it. This wasn't the first incident either.
Tommy's a good guy when he wants to be, but when he gets in a certain way about something, there's no reasoning with him. I guess I can attribute some of it to him being young(er) and in a stressful family situtation. He just needs to grow some I guess.
So essentially, I have no idea what they are doing. I haven't spoken with him in a month and a half and he's made no effort to contact me. I don't think I'd attend either way.
Sorry for the drivel, just wanted you guys to know that I have nothing to do with anything at Alamo Music anymore.
It sucks, yes... because sometimes he was a good friend, but eh... there's other Taylor dealers. :D

The date was around March 17th if I remember correctly but I don't remember for sure.
It sounds liek ti will jsut be a clinic, but I could be cool if a bunch of us could meet up there.
Maybe have dinner after ward or something. ?? ;)
I'll try to get the specific date.

March 17th. If that is the date, then I am there. Maybe my CD will be ready by then (probably not, but I can hope).

I'm down for dinner with you guys, but I doubt I'll attend.
According to Tommy, Dan Crary will be there on March 18th. Well that's a Tuesday so that kind of rules it out as a Taylor Forum event. They expect to have the sign-up list going in a couple of days. Probably by Saturday you can call for a reservation to 210-522-2587. If you're coming from out of town the location is 1530 Babcock, San Antonio, TX.

Too far for me to go on a Tuesday! I have to teach Aggies on Tuesdays (it's not a job, it's a cultural mission  ). I'm up for the 22nd at Lake Houston, though.
