For those of you that went to Taylorstock. how does it work as far as ordering guitars? Do you buy straight from Taylor? Is it cheaper to purchase as a member of the TGF? What are the prices for taylorstock? After seeing JR's Hot Rod guitar, and JW's GTLB, I am sure that I eventually want to get a custom guitar made at Taylorstock in the future. Why ever buy a in stock guitar, when you can get a custom at Taylorstock?

Brian, TaylorStock was a once-in-a-lifetime thing. While there MAY be a TS II, there may NOT be. It's up to Taylor.

As far as ordering a custom guitar goes, talk with your dealer. You can order a similar Hot Rod guitar right now that will ship in April (?) I think.

As for TaylorStock guitars, there were only 54 (I think) made. I'm not gonna be selling either of mine. I don't think anyone else who has one will ever willingly part with it.

I'll echo what Joe said.

It probably would do you no good to count on another Taylorstock for another guitar...there may never be another one...there may be many more...nothing is set in stone either way.

And if, fortunes permitting, we are fortunate enough to have another Taylorstock at some point in the future, there are no guarantees that Taylor will extend the same, or even ANY offer of custom guitars to the attendees...

And, from my point of view, I really dont like looking on Taylorstock as a method through which to get a killer guitar. The event was about SO MUCH MORE than that...the guitars were just a bonus, and I'd be at another one in a second even if there were no guitars...I know alot of us feel this way and I think its better that way...

I think the thing to remember with the guitars that were oredered at TaylorStock was that it went through the same purchasing channels you would go through to order a custom guitar today. Nothing was purchased direct from Taylor. Selections were made, MSRP was quoted, then we went to our preferred dealer to work out a final price and place the formal order.

If you've got the itch for a custom Taylor, you can design your own and order it from your favorite shop. The only real difference (Short of sorting through the stacks to find the actual boards used) is that it won't have the "TaylorStock 2002" TRC. As others have said, we don't know if there's going to be another T-Stock (Boy, I hope so!!!), so if the custom TAS is hitting hard, yield to your desires and get it goin'!!!

Not to repeat what's already been said...

But basicly all we did was order custom shop Taylors. It's nothing you can run out and do right now.

The biggest difference between a TS Taylor and a standard CS Taylor, is we got to pick our woods with Bob.

Jeff, Ryan and Dave are right (of course), but you know what, a BIG part of picking out which custom guitars to order was having the other Forum members there to bounce ideas off of and to get opinions from and to share in the excitement of the whole event!

It was great! But you can certainly order a custom guitar and get a special taylor of your very own. There is something really really cool about that.
