good set of finger picks?

I'm a nail biter and can't seem to break the habit. Until I do I was wondering what a good set of fingerpicks would be?

I use dunlop's steel nails some time now but it's not like flesh, I would suggest you changing your strings to soft ones, I use D'addario Silk & Steel (http://store.daddario.com/category/144860/Silk_%26amp%3B_Steel). They are softer and more accurate when fingertips play.

The hole in the middle allows you to still feel the string with your finger tips but gives you that pick attack and volume.

BTW...no picks are ever going to feel like your playing with bare fingers...you have to put in some time with them....they will sound good it just takes awhile!

I've used finger picks for decades, originally on guitar, but more so now on Dobro & pedal steel.

Pro-Pik - that's all you need.

I would check out the Fred Kelly picks as well. Not for everyone, but they do have a natural nail feel to them. My next preference would be the ProPik Fingertones. I used those for many years before I switched to the Fred Kelly picks. You might also check out the Alaska picks. I could never get them to work very well for me, but many people swear by them.

Pricey, but when I MUST use fingerpicks (like when one of my acrylic nails breaks), I use these:

Discovered them at Rusty's booth at last year's Nashville Songwriter Festival. Bought the thumbpick, index, middle and a middle-finger banjo frailing pick (my index and thumb nails are hard acrylic, as opposed to softer gel on the other three, so even a broken tip on my index finger doesn't hamper and isn't worn down by frailing the way the gels do). They are easy to get used to. Only reason I prefer reinforced fingernails instead is that I always know where I've put 'em ( ;) )
