Seems like we're due folks. If memory serves right (which is a big stretch these daze) weren't we thinkin' it would be in the east/central part of the state this time 'round gang? (I know Beach Bob had one in West Palm recently, but very few of us were able to participate)

Who's game?

UPDATE: WE"RE GO FOR LAUNCH!!!! The date (September 12, 2009) and the time (10 am to 6 pm) and the location (TV/REC room at KARS Park on Hall Road in Merritt Island, FL)

Be There Or Be Square!

See Ya

I'm game if the dates fall half way OK.
I'll be gone the end of August to Indy, then again late Sept for a few days.
Other than that I'm here.

I am headed that way in the mid-August/Sept area for a few days before I set sail for the Bahamas. Love to attend if it works out.

Give us a time frame Tad and we'll see if we can't work into it. ? ? ?

I'll be gone the end of Aug for a week or so, but that is pretty much it till later Sept.

i'd like to go to one but it seems everyone is adamant about scheduling on sunday, which is impossible for me.

I am going sailing in Newport next week (oh, the incovenience of it all!) then back home to do some work. I will be back in Raleigh on Aug 10 or 11.

My excursion to the Bahamas is somewhat tied to work and weather. I am flying into Nassau, then taking the mail boat down south to meet up with my friends. I can do that later in August or in September sometime.

Really, other than the weekends of Aug 8 and Aug 15, I'm decently flexible. Air fares are cheap enough that I need not complicate the deal unnecessarily (but, I may drive so I can bring plenty of sharp and liquid objects! ...and maybe a few guitars, too)

Plan a date and let me know. I'll come down anyway, whether I embark from there to the islands or not.

Come on people - keep this alive!

I actually have a new song to present... Hmmm.. that probably killed it...

"New Song ?"

We're supposed to learn new songs ?

No wonder I never feel like I'm keeping up with the times.

Oh man, I missed your birthday ? GEEZ, I guess I really should look at the bottom of the lists etc more I suppose. I can't be expected to actually remember things like that.

Well Happy Birthday Dennis !

I'll bring ya a new song our next get together.

Come on!!!!! Doesn't someone in central or north Florida want to have everyone come in your direction? Are you all so perfectly happy driving all the way down to those of us in South Florida?

We're willing... We're able... Our wives want us out of the way for a weekend!!!

Let's hear from you people in the Florida snow country!

OK, that's a penalty flag...you can't have a ***** session about non-response while I'm living in OZ (guitar camp) for a week....did I mention that Kathy Mattea and I are an item....I have the pictures to prove it......anybody who can spare the time and scrape up the $$$$ needs to go to Swannanoa....last week of July.....DickensDad (Keith) quote; "Most fun I've had since I was 13 years old"...man, is he a chick magnet...he had some many girlfriends I couldn't keep their names straight.

Just got back from my big summer driving vacation w/ the family - - Two and a half weeks on the road! Yet, we all survived, or rather, the boy and momma survived *me* ;) Fabulous trip to GA and TN, I can provide details on a need to know basis :D

So; as usual I stand at the ready for whatever sort of guitaring event comes along. Have no idea re: my schedule, other than school starts for the kid come mid-August. And not a bit too soon either.

LOL... I didn't expect you to respond Tom. I figured at camp, you'd be out of touch.

Kathy Mattea huh? I would be weak in the knees to be around that voice. I had wanted to see her about a year ago at the Hardrock, but we had a conflict. It's one many times I've been mad about unreasonable inflexibility at work.

In that case, you're going to get an enormous kick out of the birthday song I wrote on the eve of my 60th.

I would love to see us get together in August. Since the grandkids moved back to North Carolina, we're hoping to go up there the middle of September for the religious holidays.

I'm waiting for someone to step up to the plate/ Are we still considering a Northern journey?

I keep offering to drive north because all those folks have been so kind to make the trek down this way for quite a while now. I don't mind hosting any time, but I simply figured someone up there would like to do it for a change.

I don't know what else to do. I guess it'll come down to us South Florida folks getting the thing organized and if the northerners want to come, they will.

I'd just love to get out of town and I have another 9 days of vacation coming. I can afford to get away for more than a day if someone wants to cruise some stores or play some golf. Maybe it's just a bad time.

Well guys, you know you are welcome up here. But I don't have a very big place and could not host very many players at once. And it's WAY too hot to sit out on the back porch up here these days. So I didn't get into that very far at all.

I was hoping somebody sort of "in between" would like to host for a change.
But so far nothing has come up. Let me try to talk to Agent Bond and see if maybe we could get that room out at Karrs Park again. That was a decent room for a pick in.

tadmania

That room works well. Let's set it for mid-Sept and see how many folks affirm.

Mid September, I'll be around the corner from you Tad. We're trying to come up to Cary for the holidays.

Figure out a date and I'll do my best.

Where are we talking about?

stratokatsu
08-13-2009, 06:01 AM
We don't know. We were trying to offer South Florida to drive northward since a bunch of the group from up there had always been so kind to drive down here, but nobody has stepped forward to volunteer organizing or hosting a place up there.

How big a place do we need and for how long?
