I'm back in action after dealing with foot and plumbing (home, not bodily) problems, and playing out again. Details:

July 10--7:30 p.m.--Andina & Rich at Wild Hog in the Woods Coffeehouse, Wil-Mar Center, Jenifer off Ingersoll in Madison, WI. Sugg. don. $3, but nobody gets turned away. Two sets, open mic between (your chance to strut your stuff). Nice acoustics, big comfy room.

July 11--Andina & Rich play the Prairie Herbs house concert series (outdoors, unplugged, in the garden, moving inside if rainy) at Nancy's Herb Farm in Monroe, WI. Potluck dinner--and the theme of the dinner is "caffeine:" anything with coffee, tea or chocolate in it (or meant to accompany it) is welcome. Home-roasted coffee will be served too. Sugg. don. is pass-the-hat. Dinner begins at 6:30, music around dusk (8-8:15 or so). The herbs in question are the lawful, edible and delicious kind--both for seasoning and eating on their own. To reserve and get directions, go to www.prairieherbs.com

(We'll take requests and play 'em if we know 'em).

July 18--I'm doing double duty at my own block party (1200 blk. of W. Glenlake), running P.A. and doing kids' music, hosting open mic and singarounds on and off all day except:
Between 2-4 p.m. I will be playing outside at a location TBD (in the Lakewood-Balmoral section of Edgewater, probably outside Coffee Chicago or Pause Coffee) for Edgewater Community Council/Edgewater Chamber of Commerce's Third Saturday Greenmarket. There will be free trolley service all along the route, farmstands, other vendors and musicians. It's FREE.
Details as to the exact location as I get them.

July 23--Three sets at a restaurant TBD in the East Edgewater neighborhood (yeah, FREE again) as part of the semi-monthly ECC Edgewater Dinner Crawl. (This time will focus on the area around Bryn Mawr Ave. bet. Sheridan Rd. & B'way--cuisines include Thai, Neapolitan pizza, classical Italian, French, coffee, Mexican, E. African, Japanese, Taiwanese). It'll be between 6-10 pm and I'll post here as to which restaurant I've been assigned. You can listen or just chow down. But at least wave hi!

(Note: July 18 & 23 are solo shows).

Aug. 4--Andina & Rich have moved up from Aug. 15 to play the popular, live-audience Madtoast Radio show at the spacious mainstage room of the Brink Lounge on E. Washington St. in Madison WI. Check my website and www.andinaandrich.com for details. Show starts at 8. Huge variety of brews, wines, nonalcoholic drinks and full hearty pub food menu.

Oh, and SASS! got a 2009 JustPlainFolks Music Award Nomination for Best Traditional Folk Song for "Annie Oakley." Awards banquet Aug. 29 at the Wildhorse Saloon on N. 2nd St. in downtown Nashville. Pricey, but I'm sure some other AGFers are nominees and I hope to schmooze with you! (Open mic & showcase Aug. 28 downstairs at BB King's).

The Prairie Herbs concert last night was an absolute blast. Terry & Nancy have fashioned a magical environment for audience and performer alike--it's an amphitheatre built into a stone-walled roofless barn that looks like a mini-Baths of Caracolla (the setting for the most famous of the Three Tenors concerts) with such an intimate atmosphere that 60 people seem like 20 (paying rapt attention), and unbelievable acoustics. Plugging in would have totally overwhelmed everything--the stone (and the mirrors reflecting the oil-lamp footlights) was perfectly reverberant. There are hundreds, maybe thousands, of species of native and other plants and flowers--succulents, bromeliads, ferns, annuals, perennials, trees and herbs galore. Potluck dinner was amazing, and the campfire afterwards was a chance for the audience to strut its stuff (no slouches at all among 'em). They do 1-2 concerts a month, all acoustic, varying genres--no repetition, as they want to introduce their audiences to as many different artists and genres as possible. (Last one was Cajun, next, I think, will be Balkan). If you get the chance to get out to Monroe, WI (s. central, in the heart of farmland, beer & cheese country), check out the website and make a reservation. Biggest and most eclectic house concert series in the state by far.

Next Sat. in my "hood" the schedule is slightly more definite than before. I will be doing 2 sets from 2-4 pm outside either Coffee Chicago (Bway & Berwyn) or Pause Coffee (Berwyn & Winthrop), and then 2-3 sets at the Glenlake Block Party from 5-7:30 p.m. during the dinner hour. Come by--I should have some stuff out in front of my house (even if I have to order out instead of grilling, due to time constraints). Feel free to do a song or two as well--just PM me for the address and to let me know. The block party will NOT be a tip-jar, open-case or cover-charge gig--it's strictly for entertainment and enjoyment. No hats will be passed except for protection from sun, rain or pigeons.

Got a wedding this Saturday, or I'd try to swing by. Maybe Thurs 23rd will work.

Sat. I will be in front of Pause Cafe, just e. of the Berwyn Ave. CTA stop from 2-4 pm, unplugged; for the block party, in front of 1314 W. Glenlake (full P.A.) bet. 5-7:30. Come on out and sit in if you'd like! No tips, no cover, just fun. (no parking on the block--use the alleys or adj. streets)

For the Edgewater Dinner Crawl on the 23rd, I still don't know to which restaurant I'll be assigned--they may have me hop the trolley and do short sets at a bunch of 'em. The event runs 6-9 pm.
