Sawlon "You Are So Beautiful" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mD549tt8qUo)

So I've been following this gentleman's instructionals (which are way above my current skill level) and am fascinated with his style of play and with the ease and intonation he delivers. As a amateur and student, this guy seems like the real deal. The way he plays really made me want to bear down and practice.

Anyway, cut to the 1:05 mark, he chords and hits these harmonics then fans the guitar for vibrato. Can someone tell me about this technique? I've only learned the 12th and 7th fret open harmonic.

(I want to learn soooo bad...!)

Blue,
Pretty simple technique: Using your picking hand index finger, touch 12 frets away from whatever note you're fretting. The 'trick' is to pluck the string with your thumb.

They're still 12 fret (away) harmonics in any case.

There are a number of video instructions on harmonic techniques here:

Scroll down to the Harmonics section and you'll find some in depth discussion. Maybe something might help?

The latest issue of Acoustic Guitar Mag has an article on hormonics and some insights and instructions as well. Might give ya a hand on this.
I play with a pick so it takes me a bit more "effort" to get the plucked harmonics like that, but I still manage to do it time to time.
