Who would be interested in a get together in June and where would you like to have it?
Since everyone from the northern part of the state have been so kind to come south all the time, how about someone up north hosting and us southern folk return the traveling favor?

North Carolina!
Or let's go invade Lisa's house.

Works for me...
By the way, the kids will be back in their Cary house by mid July.

So Tad, it looks like you and me... If we invade Lisa's house, are we going to tell her first or just show up on the doorstep and ask what's for dinner???

Called her this morning. As always, she is welcoming all. Let's get in a date setting mode for something northerly, or I'll just come see you and Clif. I'll cook.

I'm good virtually any weekend starting the 26th.
The grandkids are here until the 24th, but they might be leaving earlier if my son-in-law doesn't have to go to China on business. If that's the case, they'll rush home to start packing for the move back to Cary and I might be free earlier, like the 20th.

I'm ready for a jam. Planning on going sailing out of Key Biscayne the weekend of the 27th, so that's not good for me. I'll be jamming at Roots On The River in Vermont June 11-14th.

I'm in for NC, but only if you can plan it up fast enough I can still ride the Dragon before it gets too cold.
Also, due to my class schedule, I am only available weekends.
June 26 to July 4 we're on a cruise (woo-hoo vacation!) but any other weekend I will make available.
I'll be in Newport News, Va for the 26-28th, if you are around, Tad. I know it's not right next door, but almost.
And as long as you're cooking, you have room and board. Lou wants a live in chef. It's nice here, and you can work that act in the Keys, making you famous, and such! :D
Oh, Tampa works, just not 4th of July week.

Nothing wrong with Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, North Carolina, whatever... I'll probably be in Raleigh sometime over the summer to help my kids unpack after they move back. They live close to Tad and just couldn't stand being away for the year they spent in Connecticut.
Tad - Apparently you should be registered with the NC Tourism Board... you're quite an attraction!

Just got back from Utah late last night, and missed this for over a week.
I'm good with either north or south, or even NC if the dates work out.
Just keep me posted.

I'm good for a Tampa trek anytime 'cept July 3-12. NC is not totally outta the question- gives me an excuse to see my daughter in Morrisville :)
Wherever is good with me. You central/northern FL AGF'ers have certainly racked up enough road miles lately.
Dennis, I'm sure glad you stay on top of scheduling/prompting these jams!

Well, when your only friends are pretty much confined to out of towners like my AGF friends, it comes naturally.

Since June is already flying by, so what's the final answer???
.....last year we did Father's day at KARS park in central FL......that's also the day of the US Open, so I'd suggest that's not a good day anywhere, unless wide screen TV is provided for me and Dennis.....

I'm good wherever & whenever, I think :p
July is busy - a conference mid-month, and the last two weeks I'm taking the fambily to Georgia and Tennessee. So, sooner beats later.

I'd love to see a S. Fl. get together, even though I may (prob will) embarrass myself. I'm in Fort Lauderdale. Plz keep me informed, I don't check regularly.

Having started this thread, not it looks like I'm the one who isn't free until the middle of July! It's irritates me that it's just one stupid thing after the next.

Tom - You hit the nail on the head. I don't know when to stop being loyal, but I'm coming to the end of that rope.

Don't tire of doing good, brother. Such are the true heroes among men. You're standing tall in a foxhole while the rain pours in and the troops quail and quake. I am proud of you.

Tad - I appreciate that, but there comes a time when you can't take heroism or loyalty to the bank. Without crying to this forum, let's just say I expected to be treated differently as we shut this place down. Instead, best friends are now inventing new ways to use me everyday and it's very difficult to get over the hurt.

I trust that your judgment is sound, my friend. Being used feels awful, especially when friends turn away from us.

Let me at 'em.....they can't treat our buddy that way.....oh, wait a minute...I've been getting some of that treatment lately too....consider the source and write a new sad country song.....best to you Dennis!

I feel famous enough already, and count myself a success to have you for a friend, Clif. You're in Newport the 26th? Hmmmmmmmmm......... Get in touch with me about it. It's not all that far.

Well guys it doesn't look like we are any closer to a date just yet. Or a place for that matter.
Dennis, hang in there buddy. It will all work out in the end.
I'm headed out in the morning for Carolina and Virginia for a few days.
The Wayne Henderson festival is this coming Sat up in Mouth of Wilson Va.
Then I got a few days the following weekend up in Atlanta at my sons place.
After that, I'm good to go for a while.
no money left so I'll have to stay home.

Just one of the many joys of retirement. At least you made it to retirement Rick- I doubt I'll ever be able to :(

I don't know that I would enjoy retirement, whether I had the money to do it anyway, but I certainly don't have to worry about it now with the job ending. I'll have to find something else and just keep working forever.

I am relatively new to the forum. I'd be interested in a get together. I'd love if it were Tampa or Orlando. My brother is an AGF member, too. He lives .3 miles up the road from me. I bet I could drag him with me :D
