J.R. and the mods, let me first say congrats on the decision to change this forum. I think this will be very useful for the charter members.

While I'm at it, I'd like to bring to attention this topic (http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=154369) that got somehow buried in another forum (but might make more sense here). If anybody could comment on this and provide some alternatives, that would be very much appreciated.

if you are interested in worship related playing, i would highly recommend paul baloche's worship dvd series, especially this one:

it helped me out a lot! i think every worship guitar player should have one in their dvd library

Thanks Jun. I've been thinking about that one as well. I'll most likely order one in the near future.

Here are some open chords that I use in praise and worship.
Enjoy.

Thanks M.D. I already know the chords you listed, but the list is already proving useful for other members, as can be seen. ;) Alternate open chords are your friends, for sure.

Maybe I should've been a little more elaborate on where I'm at. I'm now looking for ways to improve my "chord embellishment" and transition skills. Hopefully the Paul Baloche DVD that Jun mentioned will be of help when I get around to ordering it.

Tokyoneko, most definately on the Paul Boloche.
I went to a three day conference put on by "Worship Kitchen" where Paul and his band had workshops covering Guitar, bass, keys, drums, singing song writing, etc..
I took the guitar workshops and learned a lot.

+1 on the Paul Baloche instructional DVD.:)

Well, I finally got around to ordering Baloche's instruction DVD today, after inquiring at a few local stores and not finding any copy in stock.

Here's hoping that the DVD will be a worthy investment. I also downloaded the free PDF version of the accompanying handbook, and it looks promising.
