Doyle Dykes in Southern CA Jim's-$10

Just got the Flyer today in the Mail along with Dunlop picks from an AGF member and the New Wood+Steel from Taylor

Just wondering how many members from AGF will pay a visit to the Jim's Music store in Southern CA (Tustin May 9th Along with Taylor Road Show from 4-6) where Doyle Dykes will be paying a visit (7-9) Its Just $10 and I just happen to live literally right across the street from the store :)

When you go see Doyle, tell him Russ Lowe from Chicago says hi. If his daughter Haley is with him tell her that as well. :)

It's been a running gag with me and Doyle. Everywhere he plays, whenever I hear people on the forum are going to see him, I tell them to go up to them and say, "Russ Lowe from Chicago says hi!" Believe me, it will bring a smile to their faces. We have been friends for years now and I've warned him that I was going to have my "people" from the AGF say hi for me across the country. :)

Doyle knows me well and we usually have a bite to eat together whenever he's in my neck of the woods. So don't worry that he might not know who you are talking about. He knows me... and he knows the Acoustic Guitar Forum as well. So don't be afraid to tell him you are an AGF member too!

I just saw him for the third time last week in Fresno, CA. He played a couple of songs with Haley. Absolutely worth watching. He's got to be one of the fastest, most precise fingerpickers in the world.

Based on the info on Doyle's site, this is a ticketed event... so you might want to call the store and find out if you can either get tickets at the door or if you need to get them in advance.

I went to see a group called "The Fairlanes" play tonight and took some photos. I'll post it on my blog either late tonight or by tomorrow. Be sure to check my blog for those.

Takes a few hrs to upload 30mins of good quality clips... Sorry Guys... I didnt have enough memory and a bad shoulder... Plus some fun facts,
Mahagony is Dyole's Favorite,
He got a 30th anniversary guitar Mahagony on Christmas (or before?) and Haylee wanted to play the guitar... so when bob heard the news the next day the same guitar arrived at his doorstep :D
Doyle's pops passed away on Nov.
His Son's initials are A.D.D.

Doyle, Haley and my friend Jerry and I had a late night dinner about a week before Doyle's dad passed away. We had all hoped and prayed that he would be better, but unfortunately, it didn't turn out that way. :(

Thanks again for uploading the video for me. I sent Doyle an email and asked him to check it out. I'm sure he'll get a kick out of it as much as I did. :)

Thanks! I hope Doyle wasn't too upset with someone taping his performances... but knowing Doyle, he's probably ok with it. If not, he's probably already forgiven you for it anyway. It's just the kind of guy he is! :)
