Things have settled down and I feel I could host a get-together on the Cape in July. Anyone interested? Family is welcome as we have a great beach just up and around the corner with lots of tidal pools and shallows, plenty of toys, and pretty much a child-proof home given I have three kids myself. Whatever your kids can do, my kids or nephews have either already done it or are scheming to do it so no worries there!

Linda, or everyone,

A little tangent on the thread, my wife and I are going to the Cape Cod Mandolin Camp in October of this year. Have you ever been to one?

I have been tasked to play Bass, and I am hoping to learn stuff on the mando and guitar, as well.

It's a Mandolin-Based event, but there is always room in the ensembles for guitar, and other select instruments.

Now, apologies on the hijack, and back to your regularly scheduled programming... :)

Never heard of it. VERY cool. What town on the Cape?

Nice area. There's still some exploring to do that time of year and enough retirees that there will still be things open.

Cape Cod, eh? I'd love to go if I could figure out how to get down there.

From Boston, you might have to fly if you want to get there on the same day you leave home! The traffic on the Cape in July is legendary!:D:D

I'll be in Eastham the last week of May. Where are you located?

I'm in Eastern Connecticut, and would love to make the trip if it could fit into my work schedule. Let me know when you pick a date & I'll try to reserve time to visit. That would be fun!

Oh, you SO exaggerate :D If you come late Friday night or early Sat. AM, it's not that bad. And it's usually just around the bridge area. When Route 6 is two lanes, it's great. Once you pass the Brewster exits and get into Eastham, Route 6 turns into one lane and it can be brutal.

I lived in Mass for 40 years and used to visit the Cape often. My favorite time to visit there is October...tourists are gone and you can generally drive anywhere without encountering a gridlock! lol Have fun, I wish I could make it there for the get-together...I do feel home sick from time to time!

I had hoped that I could go to this as I'll be
in Rockport for a few days in July.
Then I found out that Rockport is 120 miles
from Dennis :(
I didn't know how much coastline Mass has.

I'd love to attend. I'm in Yarmouth, next town west from Dennis, so travel is not a problem :)

I might, might, be taking a guitar-build class in Boston July 13 - 31. So far I've been unable to find a cheap place to stay while taking the class so it's a fading possibility.

Sounds great. I live in Norwell. I'll be on staycation for the first 2 weeks in July so I'll have nothing to do. Let me know the dates you decide on. Blessings, Tom :guitar:

This is great! We tried to pull this off a year or two back, if I remember, but things did not work out for some reason.

If we could do it on a Saturday, in one of the middle 2 weeks of July, it would be best for me.

Cheers

I'm in Mid-state Connecticut, and could pull off a visit. Has the date been set yet?
