Hi AGF friends,

We Songwriters in Orange County California have a new online community:

http://ocsongwriters.ning.com/

I am hoping to scoop a few OC songwriters from here...
I know your out there!
Here is something pasted from the first forum post:

This is going to be big once we start getting people to sign up.
I understand search engines enough to know that this page will rank very high on Google and other search engines within a couple weeks for certain queries. After that it will be a bit of fine tuning, strategically placed key words and this will be THE PLACE songwriters and music lovers go to find out about OC Songwriters, hear samples and find out where they are playing.

The benefits to each artist are huge. We all benefit from exposure to
each others fan and friend base.

We have our own forum to interact and discuss issues related to playing
out, recording, etc.

Each artist has their own page with ability to blog or link to the feed
from a blog or web site you already have.

The artist pages are just as versatile or better than My space or any
other site and nowhere near as buggy... And a lot smarter and cleaner
looking I might add.

Not to mention, the membership is restricted to OC Songwriters.

You can load up to 100 songs and add videos.

You can change the apearance of your page, etc.

Each artist has the ability to post their events and send out attractive
invitations.

We can feature an artist of the month...

There is so much potential with this.

For right now, here is my focus: I would like to have the music player on the front page rotate live recordings of each artist. This in itself will make this site unique. It will also be a way to have many of the artists names on the front page. The search engines will pick up the names in the player. What this means is someone could be googling for "Joey Superstar" ( or one of us that has a larger following ;~) , and OCSL could come up in the search findings for that artist. Then that person is exposed to other artists on OCSL...this happens repeatedly and the buzz gets around that this site is a pretty cool place to visit...capiche?

If you have any live recordings that you would like featured in this way, send me the MP3's or post them in your player on your page. I can get them from there. I will try to get recordings of those of you I meet at the open mic nights and use them with your permission. I use a mini-disc recorder with a stereo condenser mic and get good quality "bootleg" feel recordings.

Peace,
Rob Chiavelli
