We are a go for this Saturday from 12-5 at my place. Email me at edward@edwardhamlin.com if you need directions. Also, I have set up a temporary gate code, so email for that too if you don't want to call when you get here.

Ciao

Fellow Rocky Mountain pickers, any interest in a repeat meeting of our Boulder session? We're happy to host again if our location was convenient for folks. I was thinking sometime early April....?

YES!!! I hate that I missed the first one and would love the opportunity to make it up and meet you all. I just spoke to nspeer about getting together - also spoke with another local guy who said he'd love to make it again.

I'll give it another shot at showing up. I don't have any trips planned for then.

I'll bring a CA Cargo to compare to the CA GXi that folks were intrigued with.

Edward, that last get together was one of the more inspiring times I've had since picking up guitar. Great people, outstanding guitars and your wonderful hospitality, it doesn't get much better. I'll be there with bells on! (No, not the striped ones that I can't fit into anymore...)

April sounds good, I've only got one weekend taken out by Border Collie Rescue stuff. Let me know if I can bring anything to help out.

Well, sounds like we should start planning. How about April 4th? That's a Saturday not too close to Tax Day...wouldn't want any last-minute filing to spoil the fun, would we? :D

I would definitely be interested in stopping by again, it was great to meet everyone last time (and play some great guitars too)! My sister is due right around that time (April 2nd), so if she's early... or late for that matter, I can make it!

I've had a couple folks email and say April 4th isn't ideal, so as an alternative how about April 25 or 26? It could be a POST-Tax Day steam-blower-offer.

Based on replies so far I'm going to put a stake in the ground for Saturday, April 25th. This seems to work for most everyone who's checked in. Let's say 12-5, like last time. We'll provide soft drinks - if anyone wants to bring anything stronger, or munchies, please feel free!

Contact me at edward@edwardhamlin.com if you need directions.

Let's plan on leaving a block of time for those who might want to play a few tunes for the group, mini-performance-style. Otherwise just more hanging out, one-on-one jams and group mayhem, like last time. Why mess with a winning formula? :D

I'm 100% in now, it will be great to see everyone again... anyone get any new toys? :guitar:

Just a bump to confirm that the next Front Range get-together is confirmed for Saturday, April 25th, 12-5 pm at my place in Boulder. I had noted it further down in this thread but have been getting questions, so I just wanted to confirm it here. Please contact me via email (edward@edwardhamlin.com) for directions if you need them, and share the details with other locals who may not be aware. For new folks, just ask them to contact me so I have an approximate idea of how many to expect.

As before, I think Paula and I will just provide some basic munchies and soft drinks, with potluck additions more than welcome. Hardly anyone wasted time noshing last time - too many nice guitars and people around - so we'll keep the food very simple.

Two other things:

- If you can, bring a guitar stand. There were too many expensive guitars lying around on flat surfaces last time for me to be comfortable. I have a few good stands but we need more.

- This time let's dedicate an hour (or whatever feels right) to mini-performances by anyone who feels so inclined. This was a suggestion made by Larry J and a couple others, and I think it's a great one. No pressure on anyone who's not comfortable doing it, however.

Looking forward!

Its on the calendar, written in permanent ink. Meaning "I'm not available... no not even for that!" Whatever "that" might be. ;-) Really looking forward to the get together Edward. You and Paula are such wonderful hosts and the "geetar" players, well, I think my head will be swimming like before! I just wish I knew who everybody was!

I can bring one stand.

One more logistical thing as the time approaches - I have a Crate acoustic guitar amp that accepts a line in and an XLR for a mike (which I can provide). So if we do little performances and people prefer to play through an acoustic amp, I gotcha covered on that.

If anyone needs directions please email me at edward@edwardhamlin.com in advance of the gathering.

Looking forward!

Hey Edward,

I have a Genz Benz Shenandoah 60 with both an xlr/balanced input and a 1/4" if you need me to bring it, the worst part will be taking it up your driveway :)

You know, guys, thinking about it let's not bother with folks bringing PAs and extra gear. My space is small enough that I think it's just not needed. I do have the Crate acoustic amp with two channels if for some reason we need to amplify.

DO, HOWEVER, BRING GUITAR STANDS!!

See you all at 12 this Saturday - looking forward.

Hi Edward...
As lively as your living room is, why would we need/want to amplify? Just thinking here...

Bringing a couple of friends and we will see you at noon...

Hi Edward & Paula...
Now that was fun! What an amazing day to spend with similarly afflicted folk who are captivated with what can be done with pieces of wood strung with wire...

The Cheyenne delegation really enjoyed ourselves...

Thank you Edward and Paula for being such gracious hosts for a perfect afternoon. What a fine group of AGFers we have in this neck of the woods! Playing all the outstanding guitars was an incredible high and an education in tone. Listening to the everyone's different approaches to making these little boxes talk just made me smile the biggest of smiles on the inside. You folks are an inspiring bunch, may you all find incredible songs inside those wonderful guitars!

Did anybody bring a camera to this event? I love seeing all of your faces...and even better would be if they were labeled with matching user names.

Thanks to you all for coming and filling our home with music and good cheer!

I'm compiling a mass of photos and short videos which I'll be posting - but here are Jeff's for a first taste:

I added a comment to most photos with the screen names of the pictured suspects.

More to come....
