as long as I can play golf early in the day and hang out with the picker's in afternoon, I'm cool with it;)......and I'll defer to Rick for what day we do it.
I only get 8 days in your beautiful sunshine and warm before I go back to two more months of MI winter!! Gotta get as many swings in a possible!!!:D

Fitness1- Grasshopper- Don't you know that it is far better to pick than swing!!! Well, at least it's a whole lot less frustrating (in my book anyway).;)

haha....I can pick about 10 hours a day in the winter in MI if I want.
Those eight days of sunshine bliss in FL are about all that get me through until April. Actually I'm in Dayton OH right now and played 18 two of the last three days. Heading to the course again in a bit after a good treadmill butt kickin';)

Sorry, I've been a bit distracted lately...
We intend to host, whether I'm able to play, or just cook. The doctors still haven't cleared up whether I will have surgery early or late in January and I'm trying to push to get things done asap. I want life to return to normal.
Tad and his brother will be here. I'm going to be here. Anyone else who shows up is welcomed. I don't know if I can play golf by that weekend, but we'll see.

I'll do the surgery, brother. I have a couple of "ectomies" I need practice on. I'm getting nearly as rusty as my scalpels these days and if I don't get some time in, I'll lose my Milwaukee Tools endorsement deal. If you can get a belt sander and some cargo straps, I'll bring the rest.
Sunday, Jan 25 looks like the good day. I will have a few folks with me. Perhaps as many as four. These are my older brother and several friends from school. Let me know what I can do to take the load off of you and Rosie. I can bring food, drinks, chairs, whatever.
And for all those who might attend..... please let me know how I can serve you best. I mean that I do not want to capitalize on the time you have to visit with these friends. If golf is on the menu, my brother and one of the friends might even like to go. Let's make this the best of times for everybody.

Super... Let's see... my liver is apparently important, but it has such visions of grandeur that it has swollen up with ego. My spleen, which doesn't do much, apparently thinks since it doesn't have to work so hard that its smarter than everyone else, so it's got a swelled head too. My diverticuli, who apparently don't think I've been stopping at the drive through to feed them enough, have started raiding what goes past them like little pirates, hoarding to themselves some nuts and seeds. My artery from the kidney has an aneurysm, a transparent attempt at something in there to escape from having to perform its daily duties at keeping me alive forever.
Tin snips, hacksaw and a bottle of cheap wine should do it. :D

I will be attending whenever it ends up being set. Any potential Tampa area carpoolers are more than welcome to pm me to set things up. I don't mind driving or chipping for gas. Miami should be cleared out from the national championship by then as well, let's hope anyway!

OK gang, I'm ready to go.
I've had a pretty amazing day at my doctors, basically to go from there being quite a bit wrong to being told there may be very little wrong with me other than the obvious, a guitar playing golfer fanatic.
My so called aneurysm is actually an oversized abdominal aorta. Normal is supposedly 2.5 cm, (diameter), and mine is 3.2 cm, but I'm a big guy and the vascular surgeon said everything is perfectly proportionate and that he doesn't think there's a thing wrong with my vascular system. In short, he says he thinks mine is big simply because I am big. The description of that artery being oversized is "aneurysm"... so they scared me to death for almost nothing.
The swollen liver and spleen needs to be figured out, but talking to my gastro dude yesterday, he said quite clearly that there isn't one single thing to suggest a disease or any other serious condition. In fact, in his opinion, my doctor's original opinion about this possibly being a kidney infection, since the pain is still with me, may be correct and maybe the blood test was botched. He suggested another. (Do I still run on blood? Is there any of it left in my coffee system?)
So, I'm going to clean up after the kids have been here. By the time you folks want to arrive the weekend of the 24th-25th, we may have just about finished cleaning up their mess. I promise to empty the diaper pail first.

sounds like fun! My son is going back to college on the 25th :( Probably a pretty sensitive weekend on my end. So I'll have to play it by ear.

Man, I wish i could go to that. Of all the guitarists I've ever listened to, I've only gotten to see Adrian Legg, Steve Wildey, Doyle Dykes, Tommy Emmanuel and Mark Vee. I would love to add Kottke to that list.

Hmmmm.... Leo Kottke; I don't think I've ever seen him... I think I may have to go. City Limits is a great venue, with an excellent sound system and good sight lines. Pretty sure the VIP area is upstairs at the back, otherwise the downstairs is all SRO. Really no good reason not to go, as it's very close for me.
Hold on, we're strummin' ;)

Email me for the address, phone and directions if you are coming to my house for the jam on January 25th.
I'd love to get some sort of head count since I am beginning a diet and leftovers of the guitar jam kind will be no excuse, (at least according to my wife), for me to keep eating things I like that are bad for me after you guys are gone.
Also, if it looks like we are going to have a really big turnout, I'll borrow some chairs from work. Later this weekend, I'll warn my nice neighbors, (the heck with the jerk neighbors), since nice weather will find us on the patio under ceiling fans instead of cooped up inside the house.
As far as a starting time and ending time, leave it loose. Something like 10 AM to start is fine with me, as long as me and the house guests can grab breakfast and coffee first. The ending time is up to all of you, depending where you have to be on Monday and how long the drive home is.
I wish I had a mansion so I could just say everyone arrive Saturday and go through Sunday. Remind me to buy a lottery ticket on the way home.

That's it, I am having Bob bronzed. The man is a treasure.
I will have ummmmm....... five or six altogether, I think. Four, for sure.
What's for lunch? I can help. Got a grill? The leftovers you'll have after I am through will be fine for your diet. I can be there right and burly. My friends, too. They're great guys. Let me know what I can do.

Email me for directions to dmiller@bellsouth.net
Let's figure on starting at 10 AM Sunday morning, and for those going to church, whenever you arrive.
Some of you will be here earlier in the week, so let me know when and I'll arrange displacing as much work as possible.
I got some new guitar strings and I'll be changing everything this week. With all those short ends being cut off, be careful where you sit when you get here.
For you coffee drinkers, Tad sent me something very special. It's gonna be gooooooooooooooooood...
