1/17/09 AGF Get2Gether in Downey, CA.

Attention all Southern California AGF Members & Everyone that wants to come to Downey, CA! (This is the same weekend of the NAMM show in Anaheim, so make sure you add this to your schedule if you are coming to NAMM - Downey is just 20 miles north from Anaheim)
January 17, 2009 is the date for another AGF Get2Gether. It will be @ the home of Russ & Twyla Lewark (aka the Koa Kingdom). It will start @ 11 AM on Saturday morning and go until 8-9 PM or until we drop from extensive guitar pickin'. We will have an Open Mic, with PA set up outside and a Circle (acoustic) type format inside. We will be serving food & drink, but bring your own drinks if you have a preference. There will be all kinds of different genres of music. Come and bring family (kids are welcome) & friends! We will have a Donation Box if you want to contribute towards the food & drink. This is to off set the cost of putting these events every other month (bi-monthly).

Ohhhh, this sounds like a great deal of fun, but the McKnights will be at the Islander motel, on W. Catella in Anaheim , about 1/4 mile from the NAMM convention with our kids and a dozen our forum luthiers friends.

I won't steal people from your event, but we invite the entire forumites to join us at our motel where Luthier Bruce Sexauer will set up a hall or a suite and allow all of us to fill it with a whole bunch of hand built guitars so y'all can come to play for the fun of it, or to purchase and take home.

We would love to invade your area for a few minutes, but I know people are already planning to attend the motel event and, I believe, we are committed to be there Thurs., Fri., Sat. and Sunday.

I wonder if you can combine part of your event to meet ours as some of us (speaking about the McKnight Guitar family) will be without transportation other than our feet. Our kids have never gone to a guitar show. I'd like you all to meet them, too.

Sounds like a GREAT gathering....................I would TOTALLY be there, but I will be backpacking, hiking and... In Ecuador with my wife for the entire month.
