Hey Y'all:
We are giving away a CA Guitars "GX" High Gloss cutaway worth $2,700 at the Open Mic on Dec. 5th, 2008 at the Blue Nile.
Here's some more info
"Come participate in the inaugural New Orleans Songwriters Festival ("Songfest"). Sponsored by ASCAP, the Festival kicks off Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 at New Orleans' Blue Nile Club (532 Frenchman Street) with the first "New Orleans Songwriters Festival/Bluebird Open Mic," to be hosted by the Bluebird's own Barbara Cloyd. (For details on performing, email festival director Bud Tower at bud@nosongfest.com.) On Saturday, Dec. 6, the Blue Nile will host a 3 p.m. show featuring New Orleans' own Susan Cowsill, Nashville Warner/Chappell Publishing staff writer Jim McCormick (New Orleans native with cuts by Tim McGraw and Trisha Yearwood) and ASCAP VP/hit writer Ralph Murphy, and Lost Highway Records and Baton Rouge native Mary Gauthier. That night at 8 p.m., the party moves over to the House of Blues (225 Decatur St.) for a special concert by American Songwriting treasure Jimmy Webb, New Orleans' own Allen Toussaint, along with Bluenote recording artist/jazz chanteuse Cassandra Wilson and Cajun/Acadian singer-songwriter Zachary Richard. Come play the Open Mic where in addition to playing for publishers and A&R folks, you will have a shot to win a CA "GX" acoustic guitar, and one of four acoustic guitar pickup systems, six hours of recording studio time, and some other goodies in a blind draw!!! See www.nosongfest.com. Songfest is a charity event created by Songfest Foundation Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization. Proceeds slated to benefit area music- and musician-related charities. The 2008 charitable recipient is the New Orleans Musicians' Clinic."
