hey everyone.

me and openroadmatt have been playing with some serious sound equipment. Today we ran four sources through two pendulum sps-1s running through a bose T1 and L1 model 2.

we both have been around some serious gear and sound and think we might have heard possibly one of the best plugged in sounds.

we want to experiment more!

we want to run one guitar with five sources to five individual Bose Towers just for fun.

since two of the units and one pendulum is at my church already, we were thinking about doing a little experiment and inviting you to hear!

who would be up for some playing and listening? if we met at my church, it still is an open invite and don't feel you have to be part of a certain religion to come. we will be open to all :D

who wants to play? possibly some sat in Dec?

When I saw that address I thought it was a MUCH larger institution that I think is on the other side of Rte 7. :)

Eric,
That was fun yesterday! I plugged in my Taylor right after you left and it took me a while to get used to how "bad" that sounded compared to your 4 source Ryan! Any chance we could do this on Saturday, December 6? I am going to be out of town for most of the rest of the month.

I would be interested, and I have a friend that would love to experiment a bit with the Bose. Mind if I bring him along?

December 6 would probably work for me, early afternoon would be better, but I'll have to ask, er, I mean check my calendar.

matt, when in Jan would work for you? Dec 6th can't work for me. if we meet in jan, that will give me enough time for my AKG and Sunrise!

Hey guys. Pat McCaskey here. I'm always up for a chance to try a new sound system. Eric, let me know when you finally settle on a date.

Pat, it'll be a great time! I've never heard a better plugged in acoustic sound. the sps-1 has been around since 1993 and still the best solid state acoustic preamp on the market. have you ever played through a bose? its nice, but the fun part about this experiment isn't necesarrily the bose, but the two preamps and four sources out of one guitar!

Calvin, it'll be a fun time. are you local?

Eric,

I'm not sure if I can make it. December and January are extremely busy months at my office and so I'm occasionally asked to work weekends during that time. If I can make it, I'll let you know.

As far as I know, any Saturday in Jan would work at this point.

Wow! This sounds very interesting. Makes me me wish I waited a few months before moving from DC to the Nashville area... I will be watching the forum to hear about the event.

I'd love to come if the dates work out. Live in Old Town. Travel a bit, so would need to know dates. Dec. 6 wont' work, and Jan 10 won't work. Holidays are out, too, of course, as I'm traveling.

I can bring Collings with K&K PWM, and the new Tube Pre-amp from K&K as well, if interested. And a couple of other things that might be interesting.

Steve, when did you make the move to Nashville?

Eric,

The Z-family arrived in Nashville about a week ago. We are now in the process of finding a home and getting settled in to life in TN. I am really looking forward to enjoying some great music... the musicians on Broadway St are fantastic!

Sounds like fun, I doubt that I have anything extra to bring to the table, but I'd love to see how this 4 source creature works.

I can contribute an L1 Model II (recently acquired), T1, and possibly two more L1 classics. And lots of B1's (subs). December is not a good month, though. Mid to late January would probably work.

Combined with Matt and Eric's B1's, we can really create some thunder just for kicks. Maybe we should try to A/B a Soloamp while we're at it.

Even though the sources are different, I would imagine running the same guitar through 5 systems concurrently would cause some cancellation in certain spots, but will be fun to experiment.

Hi John!
Congrats on the Model 2!

As of now, I have every weekend in January and I'm flexible depending on my wife's work schedule and babysitter availability.

Most weekends are fine for me, outside of Christmas weekend. I can bring my Ultrasound if anyone is interested in trying one out. Just keep us informed on the date.

Sounds like the first couple Saturdays in January are out. Here are the dates for additional Saturdays: Jan 17, 24, or 31. 17th is around innauguration - things might be hectic that weekend. (thoughts, Eric?). How 'bout the 24th?

I can throw some vocal processors into the mix. Kinda fun.

Any weekend in Jan is fine. I'm deliberately laying low.

reminder that this is mainly a time to play with gear. we want to experiment with 4 or more sources on a guitar running through 4 or more speakers!

lets reply if it works for you and what you will bring:

- 2 bose L1s w/ 2 subs
- Pendulum sps-1
- Ryan Cathedral, Omega MJ, Omega Baritone
- K&K mini w/ mic and sunrise

24th Sounds good at this point, although I don't have much to offer on the equipment side. I can include a bass if you want to see how that does running direct into the systems.
