This gig just fell into my lap a couple of days ago, and I urge you all to come out for it.
WHEN: Thurs., Oct. 2, 7-9:30 p.m.
WHAT: Bluebird Night (four songwriters in-the-round), presented by Lilfest
WHERE: Bill's Blues & More, 1029 Davis St., Evanston, IL (convenient to CTA and Metra trains, PACE buses, and ample street parking)
WHO: Me (Sandy Andina), Dean Milano, Dave Hawkins, and one more songwriter (as yet unannounced--yo, Marshall, Gutch, Don, Reed.........)
HOW MUCH: Ten bucks--that comes out to $2.50 for each of us, doing a show's worth of stuff.

Bill's is the North Shore's premiere music venue, for both acoustic music and electric blues, rock and jazz (one of which will go on at 10pm if you want to stay). Great sound system, expertly run by our own Norm Siegel (UncleDizzy60)--a terrific performer in his own right. A huge array of drinks both "leaded and unleaded" (daily wine & beer features), with BBQ catered by Hecky's.

The series is looking for performers who can reliably provide an audience every month to keep it afloat. If you love good acoustic songwriting---or consider yourself a performing songwriter of the caliber necessary to play this series, it is imperative you attend and if the latter, talk to Nancy (info@lilfest.com) about booking a slot at an upcoming round!

Thanks for hitting me over the head with this last night, Sandy. Plus I loved your performance at the Just Plain Folks open mic. Something about last night was special.

(no snide comments)

I have to check on my next Thursday availability. I'll know tomorrow what's up on that.

You were terrific too, Marshall--your songs are beginning to become earworms (and I mean in a GOOD way!). There were a couple of really awkward moments with one of the performers' songs (you can probably figure out which one--WTF was he thinking?), but you did great, as did Dean, Jim and Urban.
