SO, IT'S HAPPENING...SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27...11:00-?..........., OCEANSIDE

Potluck with us providing a BIG pot of our famous red chile beans and all the "fixins" for burritos....

Things to bring:

Guitars (duh)
Guitar stands (I only have 3)
A comfortable playing chair (I will have 10-12 folding chairs available)
Something to add to the lunch
Whatever you want to drink

And, I thought it would be cool if we all had copies of chord charts for a few songs we could all play together.

My house is small so we will be mostly outside under our big covered porch, upstairs on the deck or in the lawn. I live close to the beach, so it's there for anyone who wants to get wet.

Parking is limited (California, RIGHT)..........

Just a suggestion, maybe we can get someone to bring a video camera. We can all get together on a simple tune and record a video to upload to Youtube so we can share it with the rest of the forum. Just an idea!

Its all pending on weather basically. I live in the desert down in El Centro. IF the weather is still too hot for a birthday party I will be there. Talked to my bandmates last night and they sounded interested. I'll confirm as soon as I can.

Just found out that the Kahuna Cowboys have a gig on the 27th! Sorry to say Twyla & I won't be able to make your Get Together in SD. Let me know if you need any help of any kind and hope you all have a great time. Can't wait to see the videos.

Hey Russ,

I will definitely be there. Susan's been under the weather for the last couple of weeks, but if she's up to it she'll be there, too. To make up for the other Russ not being there, I'll bring my Koa guitar. Russ let me keep it 'cause the top isn't Koa. . .:D

Just a heads up for all you in San Diego. Phil Keaggy is going to be in Carlsbad on 9/26 at Northcoast Calvary Chapel. For those that are not church folk, you might want to consider putting up with a little religious stuff for a night to hear and see one of the most gifted guitar players on the planet. A thought mentioned here as a thought from someone who will be attending. How about those of us inclined copy some chord/lyric charts so we can share songs more effectively????????????

ANOTHER interesting thought. I am sitting here struggling with the appropriate finger picking pattern for "If I Needed You" by Townes Van Zandt.

This can also be a "clinic" of sorts where you can bring something you are struggling with. We can ALL help each other over the obstacles??

Lord knows I could use some help with some songs.................
