I'm currently organizing a gathering of acoustic players in my area. The gathering is to be held in October close to the town of Fair Bluff, N.C. I've arranged a campsite by the river and the event is to last a weekend. The exact date has not been set but should be decided with-in the next couple of weeks. This isn't anything major just a few local players and some friends/fellow players from a few other forums. A weekend of camping, Barbeques/fish fries, picking and fishing. It will be a free event! You supply what you need (food drinks and such). All I ask is for visitors to clean their site before they leave. Boat/canoe rentals are available by a local charter that will issue discount rates to attendies. Anyway, I just thought I'd throw this out there... If any fellow AGFers are close and would like to drop by please contact me for further info. Peace! -Pix

Hey Tad and Tops,
Your both welcome to attend! Like I said, it's just a simple gathering. I don't think power is even going to be available except via generator...lol The majority of the playing will probably occur while sitting on a log around a campfire or beside the river waiting on a nibble...lol That's what we wanted though, just plain and simple goodtimes. Look forward to meeting you Tad and it'll be good to see you again Tops! It'll be the perfect place for me to try out your new CA..:D I'll post updates and more details as soon as I have them. Peace! -Pix

If it's in late October, I can probably make it. Just another excuse to visit the grandkids in Raleigh.
I actually might be interested in coming! I'm a bit south of Raleigh. Just keep some updates on here! You can limit the number of people you want coming by just pming people directions once it gets close also probably.
Hopefully a 22 year old who's just learning wont stick out too much ;)

I could be interested if your date doesn`t fall on the same as Monroestock, which didn`t happen last year : ( Myself and another AGFer live here in the Winston-Salem area

Hey Tad, I'm trying to get the site/location owners to give me a set date! He's being shady now... At first he told me one date, then anouther and now he wants rental.... I'm giving him one more week and then I'll move on to plan b or c. Plan b is the state park at either lumber river or the one at lake waccamaw both are nice locations and open to the public. If all else fells I have 30 acres of prime camping land on my farm and I may do that but no fishing there and I really wanted that! I'm still planning on having a gathering of some sort, where ever I have to do it! And of course anyone is welcome to come by and pitch a tent and pick some. I was hoping it would go smoother than it has but people just seem to want to give me the run around and not commit. I will post updates as soon as I have them! -Pix

Vicki and I are very interested in this event.....like Bobby K., I wouldn't attend if it coincided with Monroestock (isn't about time to get that thread started???)...one of the proposed sites (Lake Waccamaw) is only an hour from our kids in Belville (I'm guessing Lumber River is too!), that'd be very cool.....

It takes me between 45 minutes and 1 hr to get to Holden beach from my house. My farm is only about 30 minutes away on 130.. Lake waccamaw is 45 minutes from your cottage and Lumber river is about an hour and 15 minutes from it. I do a lot of work in Holden beach! I'll be installing crown molding and doing some faux finishing there Monday for a customer. We have a small place at Ocean Isle, not far from yours:) Chris
