Our own Norm Siegel (UncleDizzy60) will be the first half of a double bill with Chicago/Austin songwriter Jim Fine this Sunday night, July 13, at Bill's Blues, 1029 Davis St., Evanston, IL. For those of you who don't know him, Norm's a 30-plus-year veteran of Chicago's folk scene, an expert picker and one of the foremost interpreters of the work of Chicago's greatest departed singer-songwriters ("departed" either to fame and fortune &/or to the Great Beyond) such as Steve Goodman, Tom Dundee, and (in the departed-to-fame-and-fortune-but-still-with-us-department) John Prine and Buddy Mondlock. He is a fine singer and hugely entertaining, inhabiting the songs instead of just performing them.
$10 cover, no minimum, all ages, no smoking, Hecky's BBQ available. Ample on-street parking and 2 blocks from rapid transit and commuter rail.
And since the show will be recorded, your applause just might end up immortalized for posterity!
(I'll be at the board during Norm's set, packing a surprise or two)
