I spoke with Tommy again today (actually, I talk to him every day, so that shouldn't be a surprise :D).

He said that the only thing they are waiting on is the final word from Taylor/Buzz as to which clinician they can have.

I told him I'd make it really clear that this was a MAYBE, so I'm repeating myself again, MAYBE (:D)!

Buzz had said that towards the end of February Dan Crary MIGHT be available. There's nothing definate yet. Buzz has to get together with Dan and then again with Tommy and through around schedules.

He threw a proposed event schedule as well at me.

Essentially he said he'd like to start if off with a hands-on/how-to workshop with Dan, then break for a while and possibly do an open-mic (depending on signups) then Dan would do his performance thing. There after we'd either a) eat catered food or b) all cart off to someplace near by for a big hoe-down. :)

There's lots of big places right near by too. As a matter of fact, there's a Dave & Busters almost across the street. :D

Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know that this is still going to happen, we're just waiting on Buzz/Taylor to get us some concrete dates. :)

Just hoping that the "when" in February is not the last weekend (i.e. the one with the 28th in it). I'll be out of town that weekend, so, I know I have no say, but I can hope for anyother weekend in February. And, if its the weekend of Valentine's day (I realize that is not the "end of February"), you can come and hear me (and others) sing love songs at Alamo Street Theatre on Feb 14th and 15th. I don't know who is singing/performing, but my wife and I will be doing 3 or 4 or love songs, and I will be using my Taylor 514ce. Our first performance in San Antonio.

I missed this thread when it was posted.

Any news, Jeffrey?

Unfortunately, no. Tommy is still waiting on Buzz/Taylor to give him a date for a clinician. Essentially, he's going to schedule around that.

I'll give him a shout tomorrow and get any new info he might have. :)

Talked with Tommy about this again today. It still looks like some time in February with Dan Crary. He is still just waiting on Taylor/Buzz for a firm date. :)

Keep me posted.

Fabulous. Keep us posted. Its sounding better and better.

Ok, I don't want this to sound negative but...

It seems as if Buzz is giving Tommy the ol' run-around.

Tommy has called him repeatedly and he keeps getting the same "maybe's" and "we're working on it's".

Now he's getting "well Feb. is almost booked up now".

And he's been calling for months. He, and I, are starting to get really frustrated. Hopefully someone at Taylor will read this and do something about it. :(

boo hoo, I was looking forward to this.

:(

Well it's not that it's not going to happen, Buzz is just being really difficult for some reason. Won't give Tommy any straight answers. :(

How odd. I wonder why?

You aren't the only one wondering...

I don't quite understand what the  was for in response to my last post, but I'll keep watching for further news, if there is any.

My interpretation is that Jeffrey is wondering too.

I think we are all wondering. Time rapidly approaches.

Tim is partially right. I was mostly rolling my eyes at Buzz. :)

Is there anything we can do?

jeffrey
12-23-2002, 01:24 PM
I dunno.

Tommy is doing all he can do. And I certainly don't want to make any waves between Tommy and his sales rep, that would be bad.

I supposed we'd be best off just letting him do his thing and keep trying to get an answer from Buzz/Taylor.

He's been calling them at least twice a week (if not more).

He wants this to happen as much as we do. :)

OK....I'll just keep checking.

Thanks, Jeffrey.

I thought I noticed on the Taylor website that Doyle Dykes was performing in Tyler and Texarkana at the end of Febuary or the beginning of March.

I'd love to meet some the the Texas Taylor Clan. Would one of these dates be good to meet somewhere. I think Doyle is playing at a couple of churches.

Talking to Tommy right now actually and he's told me he's still trying to get solid dates and info from Buzz, but no luck as of yet.

He's still trying though.

This is looking less and less likely. Oh well.

jeffrey

I don't think it's going to happen either. I think the parties involved have lost interest in making it happen.

Oh well, I give up. :p

Well, Jeffrey, thanks for trying so hard. Maybe another time.

Does this mean you're giving up on getting together, too?

I don't think we would really NEED a clinician, although he would add a lot.

jeffrey

Well I don't think Alamo Music is really commited to being invovled.

If someone wants to host a get together at their house or something, that's one thing, but I'm washing my hands of this mess for now. :D

Hey, I did all I could (which involves calling/annoying people semi-regularly). Wasn't that much of a chore really! :D

Well, I'll just tell you how sad I am that this didn't work. I even had my friend all excited about it. He got his first Taylor for Xmas and was looking forward to me coming to Austin to hang with him and then going down to SA to meet all of you. If you ever do pull something together, let me know. Thanks for all your hard work Jeffrey!
