I live in Huntsville and I just moved here a few months ago. I wanted to know if anyone knew of places I could play some open mics. I have never played an open mic before and would like to start somewhere. Also, if there are any meetings in the area to get together and jam I would be interested. Thanks for all of the help

Sorry Jeff, I used to live in Decatur and got around to a few clubs in both Decatur and Huntsville, but that was 10 years ago and some of those places may not exist anymore!

There were three or four places in Decatur that featured live music. One was in mall (had an outdoor courtyard where the music was set up). There were two in the "down town" area - one had an outdoor court yard that was between two buildings, and the other was a rowdy joint. Sorry, I can't remember the names of those places...just too long ago. However, a drive around should reveal if there are still any clubs there!

I remember 12-15 years ago, the KaffeeKlatch downtown used to be kind of an acoustic/poetry kind of hangout.

Cool I'll have to check that out. I just found a new place but it's only open once a month for open mics and I just missed this months. I guess I'll have to wait another month to check it out. Thanks so much
