Break a leg! Wish Chicago was not so far from San Jose. :)

Sandy,
I was nice seeing you and Rich at the pub on Sunday. (I thought about wearing my Michigan State hat but my better half advised against it.) Its good to put a face, name, voice etc with the online persona. Nice little family outing for us as the son drove on from Ann Arbor back to Lansing. Mama enjoyed time with our son, sometimes a beer and a pub and a bit of music makes for easier conversation. We tried to increase the crowd size by leaving a message on our friends cell phone ...turns out they were looking for something to do but never checked their phone messages....

I enjoyed your song selection and the blending of your voices and talents. Hope to catch you again on your next trip though.

Cool, Sandy.

Can't make it tonight. But I expect to be at the Baked Tomatoe next Wed.

Was kinda noisy last night anyway--but the Charleston was a nice venue (though no food except for a neighborhood guy coming in and selling mediocre tamales) with a great PA and a genial host (Brad Cole). My father-in-law came (first time he's ever seen me play), and was aghast that people would keep on talking during performances. Had to explain the diff. between a pub and a concert, but I think he still disapproves. (At nearly 88, he lasted the entire evening and was even clapping along with solid rhythm).

Bruce, it was SO good to see you at the Old Town--bless you and your family for making the drive and braving the cigarette smoke ! (Playing so much in Illinois and Madison these days, I've gotten spoiled by non-smoking venues). Hope to be back through the area soon, and to catch one of your performances!

The "Baked Tomato" to which Marshall alludes is the new Wed. night Songwriter "No Cover/No Covers" Series at the Baked Tomato Restaurant in Chicago--4358 N. Elston (just north of the junction of N. Elston, N. Pulaski, and W. Irving Park Rd.--take the CTA Blue Line to Irving Park or the Metra NW line to Pulaski and walk n., or I-90 to Irving Park Rd. and turn n.).
Wed. June 4, 8 pm. Separate (listening/eating) room, no smoking, family-friendly, all ages.
Lineup: Host Lance Brown (who also paints to music!), Tricia Alexander, Al Day, and yours truly--with bass accompaniment from Chicago jazz legend Doug Lofstrom.
And--AGF plug alert--June 25 will feature our own Marshall Hjerkstedt!
