Is the 4th of July weekend being proposed? Perhaps I can plan a kayaking trip up that way with my wife, with guitar being another activity ( Lots of wonderful water up there ).

The 4th of July weekend could work for me, although Sunday the 6th would really be the best day for me to do it.

It might be nice to do one earlier than that, as well. Maybe sometime in mid-May?

The 4th of July weekend would work for me too. I've never been to an AGF get-together, but ... if it were to be up here my house is surrounded by farmland and woods so no matter how much noise (or should I say great music) we make there is no one around to object ... so I am saying I could host this if it were needed.

And since this was initially proposed as a SW Michigan event, I'd be interested in a May date down that way as well. Thanks for organizing this aj.

For those who don't know that area, it's incredibly beautiful - Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is right there, gorgeous and peaceful setting. Although I don't know exactly where Turtle is, my family has been going up there every year since I was born.

Several things will have to coincide well for me to make it to a Northwest Michigan gathering over the 4th of July Weekend( and I'm looking into those ). May in Kalamazoo is a much higher probablility for me ( and I can even bring an old Kalamazoo guitar )

I just found this thread and I'm a little confused. It looks like two possible meetings to me. Is that right? A meeting in Kazoo would be better for me. Is there anything solid for that yet?

So far it does seem to be 2 meetings - one in Kalamazoo, sometime in May, and one up north sometime during the 4th of July weekend.

May is pretty open for me right now, so whatever works for everyone else should be fine with me. My dad has also offered to host that gathering at his house, in Holland, if that's a better location for people.

Right now, I'm planning on it happening in Kalamazoo at the recording studio I work at, but my dad has also offered his home in Holland, if that works better for everyone. I'm thinking we could start about 1, and go until we don't want to go any longer.
