I play a 1997 Fender Roadhouse Stratocaster....well I did that is until I bought my PRS Custom 22. Now the Fender stays in the case. Don't get me wrong, I like the Fender but I LOVE MY PRS. It is really that much finer. Now the question is, should I replace the Strat with something of a similar quality to the PRS but able to cop some single coil tones....ala the Strat sounds?

PRS Swamp Ash...absolutely. Remember, always add more guitars to the collection, so selling the strat and keeping the cash is not an option...

Go with the SAS.
Tom I'm a sick man.
I've finally decided on what I really want from PRS. (http://www.prsguitars.com/showcase/current/sp_cu22.htm)
But the SAS would really tide me over. You must buy it, because I want it and can't have it

When you get the CU22, get the trem. It stays in tune so well and is sooooo smooth...(to quote Carlos).

I'd go with an Anderson. I've always had a soft spot for those guitars. :)

I've got a 22 soapy. It's not a strat, but has been described as a strat on steroids. After playing it for awhile, I tried out an SAS, and thought it would cover the same range as the soapbar. If your looking between those two, I'd recommend the CU22 soapbar, you can't go wrong with those p90s. Andersons are cool guitars as well, and probably more "strat like" than the PRS. But you really should find a 22 soapy to try out.

Sell the Strat and buy a Line6 amp for the PRS. Dont try to keep the cash, spend it before the wife decides on that new table:roll: JW

JW,
I have a Line6 POD2. I really don't care for their amps but the POD is amazing. I use it at church to get big amp sounds that don't kill the first few rows. When I use an amp, I have a oh so sweet Fender Custom Vibrolux Reverb in Blonde/Oxblood. Here is a pic of My Amp (http://www.mojosmusic.com/cvr.htm)

OK, I am going to play as many Swamp Ash Specials as I can this weekend. Maybe a few Andersons and I will report out on Monday.

I thought J.R. was selling one of these not long ago. Perhaps he still has it for sale...

He does and it is killer. I just need to spend some quality time with one vs. the Anderson and get an idea of the pros and cons of each.
