I am really looking forward to it, and hoping to write about it, too! Customs and vintage, I will be on overload! ;)

I'll be there, hopefully, with a bell or two on...:)

It sounds like Henry L. will be working me to the bone... forcing me to perform on handbuilt guitars for hours and hours on end... the merciless slavedriver. I know, I know... I don't really expect much sympathy, as it's kinda like the kid in the candy store complaining about all the gum drops he's being forced to swallow. I look forward to seeing old friends, and making some new ones.

And at the risk of a shameless plug...

I'll be doing a "pre-Newport Guitar Fest" concert at Glades Guitars in Pembroke Pines, FL on Thursday night, April 10, at 9PM. There will be coffee and light (presumably non-adult) beverages, great guitars on the walls, and a dizzying assortment of Steel-String Americana styles to listen to.

For reservations, or more info, call proprietor Steve Wildey at 954-983-2510.... or get directions at http://www.gladesguitars.com/contact.php

Hope to see folks there!

That Rick. He fonny! :roll::roll::roll:

But seriously folks,
I'm planning on being there. Assuming I survive the rest of March. 'Tis a killer schedule I got right now.

That Glades Guitar gig sure sounds good, though it's a haul for me on a school night. But, "a dizzying assortment of Steel-String Americana styles to listen to" is right up my alley... so who knows :)

Looking forward to meeting the McKnights. Oh, and the human beans involved in their creation too :D

I'd be happy to. Let's look at it sometime closer to the actual date, like the week leading up to it.

I'll be leaving for Kentucky and North Carolina on the 21st and back on the 1st of April, so in the week plus leading up to the show, we can see who is coming, who wants to come over to me, etc.

I'm quite a way west of Miami Beach, but for people heading north from me, I am right next to the Florida Turnpike, so regardless of the 30 minutes of west bound travel from the beach to me, some food, rest and pickin' might be just the ticket before anyone needs to head home if they can only be here one day. I figure to go more than that if this thing is as big as they are making it out to be. Just seeing the performances ought to make the time worthwhile.

I'm in Cary, NC eating PBJ with my 2 year old grandson. I go home tomorrow night. I just realized today that the Masters is the same weekend, so the jam might have to be Saturday instead of Sunday. The Masters is sort of Holy Week in our house and I'd really like to see the end of it on Sunday.

Strat, that won't be a problem for me. I have to head home early Sunday so I'll be gone before anyone starts hitting little white balls around.
Still looking forward to it. almost had a big rock in the road, but I think I have successfully dodged it for now.

I'm really excited. i'll be there on the 11th and 13th. I can't wait to meet Tim and Mary. Make sure you look for my Minimac at the Mcknight table... and feel free to play it also ;)

On the other hand, this could be really bad for my wallet. so many luthiers, so little time... and money.

I'll be there! I'll be there. I'll be there! I'm looking forward to meeting all of you picking on you in person. ;) I can't wait.

I think l'll bring the master of the McKnight household with me. :D Y'all know him better as the super nice guy, luthier who built the "the McKnight Diamond" which will proudly join Joegator's Pamana Rosewood guitar in making an appearance in the McKnight Guitar booth.

Yeah, I am so excited to see what the Newport/Miami show is all about. I have complete faith in Henry Lowenstein's ability to 'git 'er dun rite!' :)

Yepper.....I'll be there! I'll be there. I'll be there! I just can't wait!

I survived March, barely. Got back into the office today and was assigned four new jobs by 8am, one for each day's vacation I took for SpringFest I guess :p  Sheesh!

Springfest was fabulous BTW, best ever I would say. I can relay details when we all meet up in person. I was planning on doing a daytrip on Saturday, and yes Sharky, carpooling is a definite possibility. Someone refresh my memory on the plan please? Are we pickin' at Dennis' place in addition to the guitar show, or just hitting the show and shopping / drooling? ... Let me know.

My wife comes home tonight from North Carolina, where I was a good boy and didn't go to a single guitar store. Of course, the NC economy is suffering since I didn't buy anything and some things I saw in Kentucky were more interesting anyway. That's another story for another time.

Anywho, I figure to make a jam out of whomever wants to come over with whatever time we get back from the show Friday and Saturday nights. I suppose the more important question at this point is, how can we find a way to meet up at the show? Once we are together, we can settle a lot more questions a lot faster.

Maybe we should trade a few cell numbers around so at some specific time we call each other and figure out which corner to meet in. My place is actually about 25 miles inland from the beach, a lot closer to the Everglades than the ocean. If you are coming for one day and going home at night, it's closest to the Florida Turnpike. If you are staying overnight, there are a few hotels in the neighborhood like an Amerisuites, which a bunch of people could crash in for a cheap per person rate. Space at the house has been offered to those who bribed me by offering to let me play their custom made guitars...

HUM, I get the feeling I fall into this catagory. So i suppose I better ask just which guitar it is I am bringing for bribery? Or did the first encounters of the Froggy kind act as a down payment?

Well, I was teasing about bringing a guitar, but now that you mention it... :D

Rick - You are welcomed to play mine if you don't feel like dragging one of yours. Besides, you might need the space in the car to carry home something new from the show. I would hate for you to buy something there and have to leave it with me when you couldn't fit it in the car.

Let me know when you want to get here. I also need to send you directions to the house.

Mary has a silly suggestion - Pick a time and meet by the McKnight booth (#515) so we can get to know y'all better. :D

Mary's silly idea sounds like one of the truly great silly ideas of our time. All in favor, say Aye!... The motion carries!

If you want, send your cell phone numbers to me and I'll send back mine - I might even make a list for those who want it...
