I should say THE CALL!
Thanks Uncle Ed for really really expediting that re-made neck with the Gothic Vine inlay. ONE WEEK! Impressive!
Steve says he will take a few pics and email me as even overnighted I won't have this puppy until Tuesday!

Oh yeah, It's an 810-LTD like you didn't know!

I really expected that it would take MUCH longer to get the guitar but was willing to wait.
As soon as I saw the drawing of the Gothic Vine inlay, I KNEW I was going to get a guitar with it!
spooky, eh!?

I'm just guessing that the Taylor folks simply "peeled" the original fretboard with the Gothic inlay off and made the new Gothic Vine fretboard and then glued it on the neck/headstock that was already completed(??) Rather than trash or recycle the already finished neck.
I am basing this on the fact that I hadn't ordered the Gothic headstock inlay (which was a seperate charge for Gothic Vine but included in the price for Gothic).
Of course, I'm delighted to have it! Looks incredible!
After seeing pictures of Mary's (buddiesorg's) 810 with the HS inlay, I had wished that I HAD ordered one. Seem to have got it anyway!
Gotta go -- doing my happy dance!
(don't ask, it was cute when I was 5)

That vine inlay is beautiful. I considered it myself. :)

It was a real toss-up that Sunday: I thought "do I get a custom fretboard inlay, amazing master grade wood, master grade neck, gloss headstock overlay, and a special headstock inlay ALL on ONE super killer guitar -- or do I spread the goodies around over 2 guitars?"
I decided to go for 2 guitars -- both with really nice but "standard grade" wood (with some cosmetic imperfections), put the master grade maple neck on the 654CE with Cindy (hey, it was "on sale") and the Gothic Vine inlay with a plain gloss ebony headstock on the 810. Neither guitar would be EVERYTHING I ever wanted, but both would be really special in some way.:)
