I posted a month or more ago how I was concerned that my 810-LTD would get made with Gothic inlay instead of Gothic Vine inlay (as I ordered it).

Guess what!!

Well my guitar is done, but the inlay is apparently Gothic not Gothic Vine.:(

Maybe Taylor needs to rename one of those inlays.

So now I am pretty sure that my TS 810-LTD will be the LAST ONE! Oh well, it'll be worth the wait!

Doh! So, they have to re-do the neck?

I've always wondered what they do with the "discards" - maybe they should make a "TS reject" wall upstairs in the administrative area where all the prototypes were. They'd still look pretty darn good!

Hey at least it's "Bolt-On, Bolt-Off!!"

I haven't heard back yet as to what they are gonna do.

Total bummer Joe!!! Man, I'm really sorry to hear that. But I'm with 'ya buddy. I feel your pain! Taylor has both of my beloved TaylorStock guitars right now in their shop to correct some minor problems. Did they catch it before it went out or did your dealer catch it? If so, that's much better. Once you take delivery of the guitar it becomes a warranty issue which is handled a little differently, I guess.

Did they give you a timeframe to fix it up?

Thanks, J.R.

Steve called me to say Uncle Ed had asked him about the inlay. I spoke with Steve and asked him to gently remind Uncle Ed of my conversation with him on that VERY busy and late last night of TS and to check his hand-written order sheet for confirmation.

I can only guess it got mixed up in translation from handwritten sheet to computerized "ticket."

They really should rename one or the other. Unless, of course, this is the only time there has been confusion about this.

It's a shame, but it is only a "boo-boo." Since I really DO want that Gothic Vine inlay, I'll wait.

No word on particulars yet from the Mothership!

As I've said elsewhere, I have every confidence that the guitar will be fantastic -- whenever it comes through!

Sorry about that Joe. At least you have your maple to keep you company.

They are on the Taylor Custom Price Sheet (just a black and white drawing) but in essence, Gothic is similar to Celtic (seperate designs marking the usual frets) while Gothic Vine is like a slender version of the much more ornate vine on the PS series that crawls up from the soundhole to the sixth fret or so.

Can you send me the Custom sheet via e-mail?

I don't seem to have it on this computer, sorry. Maybe someone like TR can send you a copy.

Here's an idea, change the name of "Gothic Vine" to "Garden Vine" and there will be less chance for confusion!

Of course, as Steve pointed out, I put the whammy on it back when I said in a post here that I had the fear that there would be confusion about this!!

I just spoke with Steve and it turns out that it was Uncle Ed who caught the error and they are going to make a new neck for me!

Ed has just been great about this and I really appreciate the extra mile that they are going to make sure my order is just right. I intend to have this guitar for a while!

Thanks, Ed!

One of my NIGHTMARES is that when they make my "ultimate" 810-LTD that they will confuse the "Gothic Vine" inlay with the "Gothic" inlay used on the Walnut series and put the wrong one in!

You're right Steve! I jinxed it!!!

Watch what you say from now on about YOUR 810CE-LTD Jeffrey!
